From His Invisible Wife to the World's Icon novel Chapter 61

Watching him walk away without a second glance, stepping into the opposite treatment room to be by another woman's side, her heart turned to ice.

Remembering this doomed relationship—how she had been the one to start it, the one to confess her feelings first—brought a wave of endless, suffocating bitterness.

But in three days, it would all be over.

"Lydia, are you okay?" Harrison's voice pulled her back to reality.

She tilted her head up, forcing back the tears. "I'm fine. Harrison, can we find another doctor?"

"Of course."

By the time she finished getting her hand and face treated, Frederick and Sierra were already gone.

"Harrison, I'm going to head home. Please thank Julian for me tonight."

"We're practically family now. There's no need to be so polite," Harrison said, still looking concerned. "Are you sure you can drive?"

"Don't worry."

Lydia said her goodbyes and headed to the underground parking garage. Catching sight of Frederick escorting Sierra into a car in the distance, she looked away and drove off.

Returning to Moonlight Cove, she found a sticky note on the counter from Gable, telling her to heat up the food left on the table.

But exhaustion weighed her down. She simply lifted the food cover, grabbed a fork, and started eating.

The spaghetti Bolognese tasted strange today. It was bitter, practically hard to swallow.

Her phone buzzed. She glanced down to see a message from Joanna.

It was a video taken at a bar.

Frederick and Sebastian were sitting at the counter with drinks. Sierra was clinging to Frederick's arm like a helpless little bird. They were surrounded by Frederick's friends, all of whom wore casual expressions, clearly having accepted his blatant two-timing a long time ago.

She gave a bitter smile. After putting on a waterproof glove to do some quick washing up, she swallowed two sleeping pills and climbed into bed.

Meanwhile.

At the Nightfall Lounge.

Sierra had just gone to the restroom.

"Freddie, you spoil Sierra way too much."

"I heard that recording... The woman's a lunatic. I can't believe she attacked Lydia with a knife. Who knows what she'll do next?"

"Is The Sutton Group really that important to you?"

The man merely took a slow sip of his bitter drink, saying absolutely nothing.

"Wasn't Lydia just asking for a divorce a few days ago?"

"With Sierra acting out like this and you still protecting her, won't Lydia..."

The man downed the rest of his liquor, his voice devoid of warmth. "If she can't even endure a few days of this, she doesn't have the right to be my wife."

"True. In a couple of weeks, The Sutton Group and the entire Sutton family will be wiped out of Averton anyway."
