Chapter 12 Let’s Make a Killing

Chapter 12 Let’s Make a Killing

“Any profit in it?” Seraphina raised an eyebrow.

“There’s this rich guy offering $60 million for a single Lunaria Pill.”

Lunaria Pill was incredibly effective for treating post-stroke or post-heart attack recovery. One pill could easily go for millions.

Why? Because the ingredients were insanely rare. Most importantly, the Lunaria Core was a microscopic natural pearl-like substance found in rare shells. Tiny as a grain of rice-and every time one appeared at auction, it went for a fortune.

To most buyers, it was a risky bet. Misused, the ingredients were worthless.

But Seraphina was different. She knew herbs down to their core properties and could pair them with other ingredients to turn the raw materials into miracle-level medicine.

Massive profit margins-guaranteed.

“You in?” Asha asked.

“Maybe. Help me track down the Voidflame Herb first,” Seraphina replied, her eyes still on her phone. “Something came up. Gotta go.”

Sure enough, it was a call from Cornelius.

The

guy had been blowing up her phone since 6 PM. Persistent, to say the least.

“Seraphina! How could you abandon me like this? My heart is shattered!” His voice was dramatic, intense, almost theatrical.

She smiled, unfazed. “Cornelius, stress is bad for your eyes.”

Oh-his eyes. Right. He paused.

“Why’d you go see Alaric first and not me?” he huffed.

“Next time.”

“No. Now,” he insisted, both grumpy and hurt. “Alaric showed off that you visited him. Then he bragged about the gift you brought. Then he flaunted that you performed a joint surgery with him. Is he trying to ruin me?!”

Just last week, Cornelius had boasted to his friends that he and Seraphina were super close.

Now? Face was destroyed.

“You really mean right now?” she asked, already knowing the answer.

“Yes! Absolutely!”

She sighed like she was giving in. “Alright then. I was just making a batch of Voidflame Pills for you. But I guess I can hold off until next time…”

“Wait!” he barked into the phone.

Seraphina smirked. “What’s wrong?”

Cornelius cleared his throat awkwardly. “Actually, uh… something came up. Let’s meet another time.”

“Oh? And what’s more important than me?”

“Everything. I mean-nothing! Nothing is more important than you. Wait… no, I mean…”

She burst out laughing.

Cornelius realized he’d been played again and muttered, “Whatever. Just bring me the pills when they’re ready.”

Click.

She tossed her phone aside, stepped into the shower, and lit a scented candle after drying off.

Then she sprawled out on the bed, opened her tablet, and started scrolling through today’s business news.

“Breaking: Billionaire launches exclusive auction for a luxury jewelry brand. Queen shatters records with a stunning win.”

Queen was her brand.

Of course she won the bid.

She tapped into the comments section, curious to see what people were saying.

[Did you hear? That billionaire’s buying out the entire jewelry collection for his daughter. Talk about living large!]
