Chapter 341
No. No. No.
How is this happening.
The blackness coats my vision; the only thing I can see is the red streaming through the… Smoke?
“Aspen?” I reach for her, her hand wraps around my wrist and I yank her close to me, refusing to lose her
in this.
“Griffon. It’s coming. It’s happening.” She rasps, coughing through the smoke. “No, that’s not possible. We still have time.” I tell her, and I feel her head shake. “It’s here.”
push her back inside the house, and we both rush to Hazel’s room. “It’s happening. I don’t know how, but she’s brought on the red moon. This is happening now!” Aspen shouts, everyone in the room just
stares at us.
“We need to move!” I shout, but everything feels like it’s moving in slow motion.
We aren’t ready. But that’s what they’re hoping for. They want this.
Hazel runs over to her shelves of books. Running her hands over the spines, trying to find something.
Dad and Walker both break through the door, and we all turn to look at them. “She woke up.” Walker says, and we nod.
Hazel walks over to my dad, “I was hoping it wouldn’t come to this Liam.” She whispers, and my dad nods. “I understand.” He whispers, and gives her a small smile. “She’s everything to me, Hazel. I want to do this.” He whispers.
“Dad?” I ask, confusion deepening my brow. He turns to look at me, then walks over to me. His fist on my head as he presses my forehead to his. “Tell your sister…” I shake my head, “Dad…” He pushes our heads together tighter, “Listen! Tell your sister, I love her, and I’m so happy for her. So fucking proud of her.” My eyes squeeze shut and my teeth clench, “Tell your mother… Tell her I’ll be waiting for her, when it’s her time… Griffon,” I shake my head, as a tear leaves his eye, “I don’t care what every person thinks of you. I don’t care what you think of you, because you see the worst in yourself, where I’ve only ever seen the best. You have been so strong since you were no taller than a gnome. You just have to see it. I’m so proud of you, and I know you’ll do better this time. I love you son.”
My head shakes as he grips me into a tight hug. He turns to Walker and Walker squeezes his shoulder, emotions I’ve never seen passing over his face. Cole, comes up and hugs dad tightly. Dallas walks over slowly, grabbing dad’s hand and they all start to walk out the door.
Aspen walks over to me, her face drained and pale. Her arms wrap around my waist as she pulls me closer. “I’m so sorry, Griffon.” She sobs. My arms slowly wrap around her as I continue to look at the empty door my dad walked out of.
“What is happening?” I rasp, Aspen’s head shakes. “It’s the only way we’ve found to remove the witch. It’s the blood of the one most devoted to her. We’ve been trying to find something else, but now… Now, we

don’t have a choice… I’m so sorry.” She croaks.
My head shakes, “No, there has to be another way. My mom would never be okay with this.” I tell her, pushing her away gently.
Her head shakes, Finn, Randy and Lenny all walking over to me. “I’m sorry, Griffon.” Randy whispers, and I continue to shake my head. “There’s always a way.” I growl, storming from the room to follow my father.
