This was the Federal Military’s rear logistics stronghold. The architecture was brutally minimal-four enormous gray half-spheres locked together, each connected by sealed alloy corridors running end to end.

The ship settled onto the outermost landing pad.

The hatch opened. Air thick with engine grease and smoke rushed in.

The medical officer who’d sent Margaret the distress call was already waiting at the bottom of the ramp. He skipped the pleasantries and led the way without a word.

“Lady Margaret, follow me. We don’t have much time.”

Margaret fell in behind the medical major general, her boots hitting the metal ramp as she stepped onto solid ground.

The landscape was desolate beyond anything she’d seen. No sign of battle. No mech wreckage. Only rock twisted into grotesque shapes by the wind and craters of every size pitting the surface.

It made sense why the Federal Military had planted their base here. A dead, abandoned rock on the edge of the Sirius Galaxy. No visible war scars on the surface. And above it, that visual-deception energy shield. Even if insectoids swept low overhead, all they’d see looking down was a lifeless wasteland.

“Lady Margaret, stay close.” The major general’s voice was clipped, his boots hammering the ground at a pace that set her nerves on edge.

Margaret glanced back.

The ship she’d just left was secured by two huge mechanical arms rising from below. A low metallic grind echoed as they lowered it into an underground hangar. The landing pad’s alloy plates slid shut behind it, seamlessly.

If she hadn’t seen it with her own eyes, she’d never have believed this wasteland concealed the nerve center of an entire front-line war effort.

The major general pointed at the largest half-sphere ahead. “That’s Core Zone Al. Commander Iverson is

inside.”

They moved quickly toward the nearest entrance. After three layers of thorough biometric verification, the three-foot-thick alloy blast doors slid open.

A wide enclosed corridor stretched ahead.

Soldiers in full combat gear lined both sides, cold light flickering from every kind of scanning equipment imaginable. The soldiers were disciplined to the core-not one of them so much as glanced at Margaret.

They kept moving. Then things changed.

The closer they drew to Core Zone Al, the thinner the guard presence became. By the midpoint, there wasn’t a single soul in sight.

What replaced them was pressure-the kind that built in the air itself, growing twice as heavy with every

step.

Margaret had felt that kind of pressure before. Ardon when he’d tried to attack her. Baar and Timothy the first time they’d shown up at her door.

Back then, spiritual power suppression had barely registered—a stiff draft, nothing more.

This was different. This wasn’t an illusion. The gravity was physically increasing, the air turning thick. But for her, that was as far as it went.

The major general ahead of her was faring far worse.

His pace slowed to a near standstill. His ramrod-straight posture slumped unnoticed, as if he bore an invisible mountain. Cold sweat soaked through his cap’s brim, streaming steadily down his jaw.

Right then, an electronic chime sounded in her head.

“Ding! Congratulations. Host. New map unlocked: Sirius Galaxy.

“System permissions updating….

“New map reward: 100 points. Current balance: 621.2. Of which 500 points have been automatically applied to outstanding debt. Remaining available points: 121.2.”

A beat later, Primo’s cheerful voice popped in. “Host! We’ve got points! We’re finally not in the negatives!”
