Chapter 275 A New Shell

He truly couldn’t stand the thought of another male presence near Margaret,

Even if it was just a machine.

“Mr. Sion Jewett.” Margaret turned her head toward Sion. “Where are the units with the female configurations?”

Sion, who had been frantically jotting notes on a data tablet, snapped to attention. He pointed toward the deepest part of the lab. “Over there. The special reconnaissance and infiltration models. To lower suspicion, they typically use smaller builds with feminine appearances,”

The group walked over to a row of stasis pods at the far end.

The units here were noticeably more slender.

With a heart full of tears, Primo gave up on his macho dreams and began picking through the female- model bodies.

“This one’s no good. The paint job is too pink. Looks idiotic.

“Nope, not this one either. The legs are too short.

“Hmm, this one…”

Primo’s gaze settled on a unit codenamed “Phantom.”

It stood around five feet seven, clad in silver-white plating with a well-proportioned frame. The joints utilized high-molecular flexible materials, giving it a less rigid appearance. The most distinctive feature was its face-no sculpted features, just a highly transparent curved holographic screen.

“This one, I guess. The screen’s decent. I can project memes onto it later for easier communication.” Primo reluctantly accepted reality,

Margaret pointed at the “Phantom.” “That one.”

Sion stepped forward and called up the unit’s data. “Excellent choice. This one is equipped with a micro anti-gravity engine for high speed, and its skeleton is made of high-strength memory metal, giving it top- tier impact resistance,”

“Host, I do have one little request,” Primo said, a hint of awkwardness in its tone.

“Speak.”

“Well, since it’s military-grade, shouldn’t we arm it to the teeth?” Primo started laying out conditions. “Fit the left arm with a micro particle cannon, the right arm with a high-frequency vibro-blade. And since it doesn’t have eyes, install a high-energy laser emitter right in the center of that screen. Preferably the kind that can punch through six feet of steel plating with a single glare.”

After listening, Margaret relayed the message to Sion. “It says the left arm needs a micro particle cannon, the right arm a high-frequency vibro-blade, and a high-energy laser emitter should be installed in the center of the facial holographic screen.”

Sion was stunned into silence.

Cheiron also tilted his head, giving the slender unit another look.

“Well…” Sion scratched his shock of white hair. “Installing the weaponry isn’t the hard part. But this unit was designed for reconnaissance. Adding heavy firepower will compromise its stealth capabilities.”

“Stealth isn’t necessary. It just needs to fight. Can it be done?” Margaret replied casually.

Sion’s face instantly lit up with fervor. Crafting a physical shell for an AI with Central Brain-level processing power? That was an unprecedented challenge.

“Yes! Absolutely!” Sion rubbed his hands together excitedly. “Not only can it be done, but I can also upgrade the joint drive shafts to the highest grade! Guarantee it can punch through the skull of a full- grown starbeast with one hit!”

Margaret gave a nod. “Thank you for your efforts, Mr. Sion Jewett.”

Sion immediately summoned several automated mechanical arms. They lifted the “Phantom” from its stasis pod and laid it flat on the expansive central worktable.

Cables of various thicknesses were plugged into its ports. Indicator lights began pulsing in a steady rhythm.

Sion directed the arms, connecting the array of cables to the “Phantom’s” interfaces as the lights blinked in

sync.

Observing the setup, Margaret asked Primo internally, “Do we need to haul this hunk of metal up to the server room, to the Central Brain’s location, for the transfer?”

“No, no need!” Primo’s electronic voice brimmed with pride. “Host, after I got all those super-level access backdoors from the Central Brain, I’m a system with the highest-grade network clearance now! I can establish a quantum-grade link with Central Brain directly, location be damned. We can start whenever you’re ready!”

Margaret replied, “Fine. Look at you, all smug.”

“Physical vessel is prepped and ready,” Sion announced, calling up a virtual keyboard and typing a long string of commands. He looked up. “Your Grace, we may begin.”

“Initiate the link,” Margaret said.

Cheiron stepped forward to stand beside Margaret, his gray eyes filled with concern. “Tell me immediately if you feel any discomfort.”

Margaret brushed it off. “It’s just a minor system transfer. I’ll be fine.”

Inside her mind, Primo’s voice took on an unusual seriousness.

“Host,” it called.

“What? Having second thoughts?”

“No.” Primo’s tone softened. “I just wanted to say… even though I won’t be in your head anymore, and the
