Margaret figured Baar had returned to say something he had left unsaid. She walked over and pulled the door open. “Is there something else…”
She never finished her words. A striking flash of golden hair stepped into hier line of sight.
Timothy stood there holding the bouquet of red roses, wearing a bright, cheerful smile. He did not wait for an invitation. He slipped through the narrow gap between Margaret and the door frame, then wandered casually into the room.
Timothy said, “Dear, I came to bring you flowers.”
He walked into the small lounge area and set the lush, vivid roses right in the middle of the coffee table.
Margaret let out a quiet sigh at his uninvited visit. He truly treated her private room as if it were his own home.
Timothy did not leave after placing the flowers down. He put his hands behind his back and paced around the room. His bright blue eyes swept across every corner-acting just like a searchlight checking every derail
He frowned as he studied the sofa. “This couch is way too hard. Sitting here for long will leave your back sore. You’re far too delicate for such rough fabric.”
He moved toward the curtains next. “These drapes are too dark. They make the room feel gloomy and unwelcoming. They also block light poorly, so you’ll never get to sleep in late comfortably each morning.”
He then glanced at the carpet and the bed, still shaking his head. “This carpet has far too short a pile; it feels flat and uncomfortable underfoot. That mattress is clearly cheap and mass-produced. Sleeping on it every day will harm your spine.“
Timothy kept walking and shaking his head, pouring out one complaint after another without pause.
Margaret rolled her eyes. This living space had been officially assigned to her by the Female Protection Center, yet in his eyes, it was little better than shabby lodgings.
She spoke up to cut off his rambling. “That’s enough. I like things just the way they are. A decent place to stay is all I need”
Timothy turned around, his expression full of disapproval. “That simply won’t do. My girl shouldn’t have to suffer in a dump like this!”
He lifted his wrist and activated his holo-bracelet,
Timothy spoke quickly to the screen. “Upton Kohn, are you there? Contact the custom furniture division of Stark Consortium immediately-the branch that supplies goods to the royal family. Tell them to deliver their finest sofa first thing tomorrow. Order smart curtains that adjust light and temperature automatically, Cover the entire floor with rugs made from Fluffbeast pelts from Alpha Planet. Margaret stood nearby, listening to the names of those ultra-luxury items. She had only ever read about such expensive goods on Starner’s gossip forums.
This was not just replacing furniture-he was simply spending credits without restraint.
She kept a calm expression on her face and said softly, “There’s no need to spend so much money.”
Timothy ended the communication and turned back to Margaret. A playful grin spread across his face.
“It’s no trouble at all.” Timothy said. He stepped forward and leaned in slightly, his tone completely natural. “Everything I have belongs to you. What’s the point of earning credits if not to spend them on you, dear?”
Margaret was stunned by his bold and extravagant words.
Timothy perfectly blended shameless charm with endless wealth. His sweet talk, paired with his willingness to spend freely, could wear down even the most stubborn person,
Margaret gave up trying to reason with him.
She waved her hand, no longer bothering to argue. “Do whatever you want. Just get it all set up.”
Timothy’s smile grew even brighter when she did not refuse him. He stepped closer, reaching out to take her hand.
Margaret reacted swiftly and stepped sideways to dodge him,
She pointed toward the door. “It’s getting late. I need to rest. Please see yourself out.”
Timothy did not look upset in the slightest. He pulled his hand back with a grin. “Sleep well, dear. I’ll see
you tomorrow.”
Timothy turned to leave, but Margaret called out and stopped him.
“Wait, Margaret said.
Timothy whirled right around and hurried back to her, his eyes shining brightly. “What is it? Did you not want me to leave?”
Margaret held up a hand to signal him to stop. “Hold on. Let’s make a deal. Don’t keep calling me ‘dear’ anymore. It feels really awkward.”
Timothy’s cheerful face fell right away. His blue eyes were filled with hurt and complaint. “Why not? You are my dear.”
Margaret held firm to her decision. The overly affectionate nickname made her uncomfortable, and she could not stand hearing it any longer. “I just don’t want you to call me that.”
