Margaret grew wary. “What exactly are they checking for?”

Cheiron spoke in a soft, soothing tone. “There’s no need to worry. It’s just a standard physical exam. You are the only 38-class female in the entire galaxy, and the Female Protection Center takes your health very seriously. This is one of the benefits they provide-we need to make sure all your physical indicators stay in good shape on a regular basis.”

Margaret realized the exam was fully covered by official funds.

She only knew about the spiritual power purification system from the original host’s memories and scattered posts on StarNet. Central Hospital was a top-tier institution with the most advanced purification department. She thought this would be a good chance to learn more. She could observe how high-ranking females carried out purification work and get a clear idea of the overall situation.

“I’m in. What time tomorrow?” Margaret agreed without hesitation.

“Nine in the morning. I’ll come get you then.” Cheiron grabbed the handle of his suitcase. “Get some rest

now.

He turned and walked toward the rooms across the hall. He did not pick the quiet room at the far end. Instead, he went straight to the door right next to Baar’s room and pushed it open.

The hallway fell silent once again.

Margaret carried the paper bag back to her room. She opened it and found a set of high-quality silk pajamas inside. Even undergarments had been prepared, and every piece fit her perfectly.

She held the delicate clothing in her hand and fell quiet for a moment.

The next morning, the first light of dawn spread across the sky.

Noise roused Margaret from her sleep.

She ran a hand roughly through her messy hair and sat up in bed. She wondered why the room’s sound insulation was so poor. The racket downstairs was incredibly loud-it sounded like two large groups were engaged in a fierce scuffle right in the living room.

Margaret got dressed, opened her door, and walked down the stairs. When she reached the landing and glanced into the main hall, she froze in place.

The spacious hall was split into two distinct areas.

On the left side, a group of strong men in dark blue combat uniforms carried heavy black superalloy crates. They moved in neat, steady steps toward the staircase,

On the right side, several staff members dressed in pure white uniforms stood in two lines. Several large, transparent anti-gravity boxes floated in the space between them. Inside were all the luxury furniture pieces Timothy had ordered the night before.

A team supervisor in white lowered his voice to reprimand his workers. “Be extra careful. These are Fluffbeast pelts, handcrafted. If you damage even a single strand of fur, none of you can afford to pay for

it.”

The supervisor caught sight of Margaret standing upstairs out of the corner of his eye. His stern expression instantly turned ingratiating. He bowed deeply. “Good morning, Ms. Greene. We are truly sorry for disturbing your rest.”

“My Lady, you’re awake!” Timothy darted quickly over to the staircase,

He wore a casual white hoodie that day, and his soft blond hair looked a little messy. His bright blue eyes sparkled, and his whole demeanor was lively and cheerful.

“Look, My Lady-all the furniture I ordered yesterday has arrived.” Timothy gestured eagerly toward the floating boxes, as if showing off a treasure. “I told them to lay the Fluffbeast fur carpets all through the second-floor hallway and your room. This material has a built-in constant temperature system. Your feet will never feel cold, even when you walk around barefoot.”

Margaret’s mouth twitched slightly. Those carpets covering every surface were nothing but credits being spent freely.

“Go ahead and get them installed.” She rubbed her temples, stepped past Timothy, and headed for the open dining area on the first floor.

Cheiron sat at the table, eating breakfast amid all the commotion in the hall.

He seemed completely unaffected by the noise around him. He wore a well-tailored light gray shirt. His long, slender hands held silver cutlery, and he cut a fried egg slowly and calmly.

Cheiron lifted his gaze when he heard footsteps. A faint hint of a smile flickered in his eyes. “Good morning.”

“Good morning.” Margaret pulled out a chair across from him and sat down.

A soft whirring sound echoed through the room as a machine’s tracks rolled along the floor.

A round white robot glided over. Its mechanical arms held a cup of warm milk at the ideal temperature and set it down beside Margaret. A grinning shape lit up on its display screen.

A familiar, gentle mechanical voice sounded. “Good morning, Ms. Greene.”
