Margarci raised an eyebrow. “What message?“

The soldier spoke in a strict, formal tone. “Mr. Iverson says eighty percent of his personal savings have been fully transferred to your account. Please check the funds. He kept the remaining twenty percent to cover military operating costs and daily spending.” After delivering the message, he saluted again, lifted his crate, and continued toward Baar’s room.
Margaret froze on the spot.
Eighty percent of all his savings?
She lifted her wrist and opened the virtual screen on her Holo-bracelet. Two transfer alerts stood out clearly in her list of unread messages.
The first transfer came from Baar’s personal account, for a total of 80,000,000 credits.
She had finished stabilizing his spiritual power just the previous day, and the money had arrived so quickly. It was obvious he was thoroughly satisfied. The memory of Baar’s strange state from the day before made warmth rise across her cheeks.
The second transfer had been sent half an hour earlier than Baar’s.
The sender was the official account of the Hurst Group, and the amount reached 100,000,000 credits.
A note was attached to the payment. “Please excuse my child’s mischief. This is just a small token of my regard. -Eileen”
Margaret let out a quiet gasp.
One hundred million credits!
That was the true financial strength of the galaxy’s wealthiest family.
Baar was the commander of the Federal Military and a top-tier 38-class warrior. He had fought insectoids for years, putting his life on the line in countless battles. Even all his life savings combined barely topped a hundred million credits.
Yet Timothy’s mother sent over a hundred million credits casually, calling it nothing more than a simple gift. The gap between their wealth was staggering.
Those damn capitalists.
Margaret closed her Holo-bracelet. Her face remained blank as she picked up her milk and drank the last half of it in one go.
Timothy stepped closer, looking curious. “My Lady, what’s going on? You look really odd,”
Margaret’s tone was unnervingly calm. “Nothing at all. I just suddenly think I’ll never have to work hard for a living.”
Timothy did not catch the hidden meaning in her words, but he answered right away, “You never needed

to work hard to begin with. I’ll take care of you. The Hurst Group’s new round of dividends will arrive next month, and I’ll send every last credit straight to you.”
Cheiron let out a soft chuckle beside them. “You seem to have a lot of mixed feelings right now.”
Margaret turned to face him. His relaxed, unhurried look made her want to tease him.
She held out her hand, palm facing up, and tapped her knuckles lightly on the table. She looked just like someone coming to collect what they were owed.
Margaret said playfully, “Everyone else has handed over their share. What about you?”
Cheiron stared at the outstretched pale hand for a second, then smiled helplessly.
“I cannot compare to Mr. Iverson,” Cheiron said in a gentle tone. “He commands military forces and draws a substantial military stipend. I am also no match for the Hurst family-they can send a hundred million credits without a second thought.”
He looked straight into Margaret’s eyes and softened his voice. “I am only a researcher. I truly do not have much material wealth to give you,”
Margaret raised an eyebrow.
His choice of words and tone sounded exactly like the empty lines people used to make hollow promises. She fully expected him to follow up by saying he would give her his entire heart.
Such words were nothing but meaningless gestures in her eyes.
Margaret started to pull her hand back. Just then, Cheiron slowly activated his holo-bracelet and tapped quickly across the virtual display.
A low humming sound filled the air.
Margaret’s holo-bracelet vibrated, and a new encrypted file popped up on her screen.
“The afternoon the Central Brain released the matching results,” Cheiron picked up his coffee cup and spoke in a steady voice, “I went to the Interstellar United Bank. I transferred full ownership of my three core medical patents over to you.”
Margaret opened the file. It was filled with detailed legal clauses, plus an asset list stamped with the highest official seal of the federation.
Cheiron took a sip of coffee and kept speaking. “Besides that, all my future regular dividends from Central Hospital are now tied directly to your account.”
Margaret’s fingers tightened as she stared at the total estimated value listed at the bottom of the screen.
“The monthly payout is not fixed, but it averages around five million credits, Cheiron looked at her, and the smile in his eyes deepened. “That should easily cover all your daily expenses.”
Margaret changed her earlier thought at once. He was far from someone who spoke empty words-he was a sincere and generous supporter.
