Get Back The Abandoned Luna (Scarlett and Alexander) novel Chapter 103

I clutched Lucien tighter, dragging him against me while staying vigilant, especially since I had just confirmed there were a dozen enemies coming our way. Tears had already blurred my vision, but I refused to let him go.

I had to move. I had to save him.

Hold on,I whispered, half to him and half to myself, even though his breath was faint and his eyes were closed. Just hold on a little longer.

Finally, I found a hollowan alcove of rock hidden by overgrown roots and thick shadows. I lowered him carefully onto the mossy ground, my hands trembling as I tore at my pack.

Blood still seeped from his wounds, staining his black shirt. His brows were furrowed and beads of sweat dotted his forehead, mixed with his blood. My vision blurred, but I tried to focus on him, refusing to let my emotions overwhelm me.

I was once the Luna of the Crescent Moon, had led the pack and commanded them in war. Yet now, looking at my past and present, I felt like I had become a crybabya weakminded one.

When it came to him, my heart bled. Seeing him endure pain that was meant for me tore at my soul. I couldn’t bear it, to see him suffer like this.

I had no idea how to heal him or even stop the bleeding. If I had known that this day would come, I would have trained in first aid and learned how to treat wounds. Back then, I didn’t care if I was in danger, heavily wounded, or almost killed. I just fought to win.

To redeem our pack.

That was all that mattered. Whether I was covered in wounds and blood, I couldn’t care less because I knew there was always a physician waiting for me, someone who would treat any kind of injury I had. That’s why I had grown complacent, thinking I was strong, that I didn’t need to learn medicine or basic first aidbecause someone else would do it for me.

But now, I needed it. I needed those skills nowthe skills to treat him. I didn’t know what to do, or what I should do first. The only thing I managed was to wipe his blood, but it kept flowing.

If this continued, he might lose all his blood!

Healer. Physician. Medic. I needed them right now.

I gritted my teeth, my hands trembling as I kept wiping his blood. I couldn’t use any herbs in the forestI didn’t know what kind of plants these were, if they were toxic or poisonous. I couldn’t take the risk, but at the same time, I couldn’t just wait here while Lucien remained in this state.

I had to do something.

Before I could stand, a bloodied hand grabbed my wrist, making me turn to Lucien, whose eyes were barely open, but his grip on my wrist was firm, as if warning me against leaving or risking myself.

I knelt on the ground, looking at him, his breath faint as he forced himself to open his eyes to look at me, though he couldn’t speak.

I looked at him gently, my hand softly patting his head. I’m going to kill the rogues and ask them where they came from– maybe they know how to get out of here.”

However, Lucien didn’t release my wrist, clearly opposing my plan.

I sighed helplessly and looked at him. You are injured, Lucien. I can’t bear to gamble with your life. Your bleeding still hasn’t stopped, and how many times have you been hurt because of me? You just managed to stand up, and now you’re in this situation again. I’ll try to find one rogue and ask him how to get out of here, so we can get you treated

I tried to sound calm and natural, but the tremors in my voice clearly betrayed my feelings.

I knew the rogues were probably searching for us, especially since I could sense a dozen presences closing in through the forest.

I knew my body. I was tired, wounded, and probably couldn’t handle a dozen of them. But if it was for Lucien, it would be worth trying, if only to trade a fight for an escape route out of this place.

However, Lucien’s furrowed brow clearly showed his disagreement.

I know you don’t want to see me get hurt, especially given my condition. But your wound can’t wait any longer, Lucien. Don’t think that just because you’re an Alpha, you’re immortal,I said calmly, looking him in the eyes as I tried to pry his hand from my wrist, but he still didn’t let go.

I saw him try to open his mouth, then close it again.

They’re coming for us, Lucien. We’ll die if we don’t do something,” I said helplessly.

Lucien suddenly groaned and coughed. II’m finenoneed…”

I froze. “YYou

Lucien took a deep breath and closed his eyes. Rest, little wolfI’m fine.”

I frowned. How could you be fine? You got stabbed-I paused and glanced at his chest and then up at him.

I leaned forward and opened his shirt, and saw that his wound had begun to heal. The bleeding had stopped, and although there was still a hole in his chest near his heart, it was no longer oozing blood, as if it was trying to close itself.

I stared at him with wide eyes. Are you immortal?

My dumbfounded question made him chuckle and cough. I’m not. I would still die. If his claws had gone deeper, I’d be a corpse right now.

It’s the blood, isn’t it?I asked.

He smiled and nodded. Yeah.

Your family is full of wonders. Are they still here?I blurted out, making him freeze before he chuckled and shook his head. My parents left long ago, and my grandma disappeared,he said, and I apologized for asking such a sensitive question, but he just brushed it off and told me I could ask anything, personal or not.

I saw you cry,” he said suddenly, making me freeze.

So, what about it?I glared at him.

He smirked. “You were worried about me.”

I rolled my eyes. Of course, how could I not be worried when you looked like you were on the brink of death?

You still deny you feel the same way I do.” His words made me pause.

I was about to reply, to refute his claim and say he was just overthinking things, when we both heard a rustle behind us.

I immediately stood up, ready and protecting Lucien behind me.

When I saw him try to stand too, I glared at him. If you dare to stand, I won’t talk to you anymore.

It’s fine, I’ll do the talking,” he teased.

Lucien! I’m serious! Don’t move!I snapped, still angry that he could joke in a situation like this.

Okay, my lady. I’m at your mercy.”

I glared. Stay behind me and don’t move.

Within minutes, shadows slipped between the trees, and we both tensed.

I was about to attack before they could strike at us, when I saw wolves emerge from the forest.

Nightshade.

Their blades were drawn and their armor was smeared with blood.

Seeing them, I let out a sigh of relief and immediately lowered my guard.

Alpha! Luna!they cried, relief washing through their voices as they spotted us. Thank goodness we found you. We have been torturing rogues, forcing them to reveal your location. Thankfully, this time, after these last three days, they finally told the truth.
