“Are you okay, Luna? If you’re not, Nick will carry you.” Arnold looked at me with worry as they both stopped walking.
I shook my head. “No need, I can still manage. Is it close?”
Arnold nodded. “Yes, we’re almost there! I can almost see the exit.”
I sighed in relief. I badly wanted to lie down and take a long nap after we got back. “Then let’s go.”
“Are you sure you can manage? We can take a break if you want,” Arnold said, about to sit on the trunk so we could rest, but I shook my head.
“No need to worry about me. I want to go back home now.”
Both of them paused and nodded, especially Arnold who had a wide smile plastered on his face as he got up. “Okay, let’s go!”
By the time we arrived back at the Nightshade, I nearly stumbled and couldn’t feel my legs anymore. If it weren’t for Arnold, who suddenly held my wrist and helped me regain my balance, I’d be on the ground right
now.
“Thank you, Arnold,” I said as I straightened my back and calmly walked to the Nightshade’s gate.
Arnold shrugged with a smile on his face. “It’s nothing. We promised the Alpha to take good care of you.”
I smiled and didn’t comment on that. When we arrived at the gate, the other warriors, who were expecting us, immediately swarmed over.
They looked at us up and down. “Are you three okay? We were so worried!”
“Yeah, we’re good, and I’m glad to be back,” I said.
“Okay, okay, let the Luna pass. She’s tired, and she wants to take a long rest. We’ll have the physician check on her too,” Arnold said while shooing the warriors aside. They moved after hearing his words.
“Our daily dose of sunshine, did Nick take good care of you?” one of them asked Arnold.
Arnold looked at that person with a big smile and nodded. “See that I’m not wounded or tired? He’s taking good care of me.”
They all sighed in relief as they guided me back to my room so I could rest, and only Nick and Arnold remained.
I lay down on the bed with a relieved sigh on my face and wanted to sleep right away, but then I remembered someone was still there, so I opened my eyes
and
my gaze
landed on them.
Chapter 105
“You know what to do with the traitor, right?” I asked.
Arnold nodded. “We know. We’ll find that traitor and bring his head to you.”

“Good. I’ll tell Lucien about this after I take a nap,” I said, then paused. “Speaking of which, how is he?”
Arnold paused and sighed. “I’ve heard that he rejected the physician and insisted he would wait for you to make sure you came back safe and sound. After all, the physician would have put him into a deep sleep while taking his medicine so he could really rest, but he insisted on waiting.”
I gritted my teeth and clenched my fist. “That fool.” I threw off my blanket and, despite the pain in my body, got out of bed. “I’ll deal with him so you two can start your investigation and rest assured. Just let me or Lucien know after.”
Arnold and Nick looked at each other before nodding their heads. “We will go now.”
I nodded and watched them leave the room before I, too, left to go to Lucien’s room. That idiot!
As soon as I arrived, I saw Lucien, who was supposed to be lying in bed, sitting at his desk drinking tea and reading documents. My gaze fell on the physician, who seemed to be questioning his life.
When I walked inside, the physician looked at me in relief. “Luna! Please help me!”
I glanced at Lucien, who stood up and walked over to me, scanning me from top to bottom. Before he could open his mouth to ask, I already cut him off.
“Didn’t I tell you to rest and let the physician handle your injuries? What the hell are you doing now?”
Lucien pursed his lips before answering. “I just wanted to make sure you arrived safe and sound.”
I massaged my forehead and gritted my teeth. “Go and lie down on the bed!”

I slowly opened my eyes, his face filling my vision. I’m feeling good
“I forgot to say this yesterday…” He leaned closer, his forehead already touching mine and locking his gaze with me.“…welcome home, little wolf”
The corner of my lips rose as I nodded. “It’s good to be back.”
“How was the search yesterday?” he asked while his hands played with my fingers–which I let him do
“Right, I almost forgot to mention that. I asked Nick and Arnold to investigate the traitor who impersonated their friend, one of the scouts named Samuel, since that person seemed to be a spy. He used Samuel’s identity by killing him and throwing his body off the Hollow Glen. It happened that both Nick and Arnold stumbled upon it. Also, I verified that the corpse we found in the forest was the real Samuel, and the fake one was the one who led us to Hollow Glen.” I calmly summarized the events.
Lucien sighed and nodded. “As expected, we really have a traitor. I’ll have Kathleen instruct the investigation unit to find the snake–but not to startle him. He’s probably still roaming around our pack and likely using someone else’s identity.”
“Yeah, that’s for the best. We have to act fast, otherwise it’ll be dangerous.”
“It’s already dangerous. And judging by how those rogues tried to target us, it seems his target is me,” he said calmly, making me glare at him.
“Don’t tell me you’re planning to use yourself as bait,” I gritted my teeth, wishing I could bite him.
“Then I won’t tell you.”
“Lucien! Are you out of your mind?!” I couldn’t help but raise my voice.
How could he so easily use himself as bait? We could find other ways to track and catch that spy.
