Scarlett’s POV

Morning came too quickly. I had barely slept the night before; my head was filled with so much excitement that I couldn’t fall asleep–Lucien was the same, also looking forward to this day. In the end, neither of us slept, and we spent the whole night talking about how far we had come.

I glanced at Lucien, whose eyes were closed, though I knew he wasn’t really asleep–his hands gently rested on my waist.

“Wake up, let’s get ready for today,” I said with a smile, poking his chest.

The corner of his lips lifted as he slowly opened his eyes and leaned over, pressing a kiss to my lips. “Good morning, my soon–to–be wife.”

I chuckled helplessly and was just about to reply when I heard Kathleen’s sharp voice ring out behind the door as she started knocking.

“Yohoo! It’s your big day! Wake up!”

Lucien and I looked at each other and sighed in resignation.

“She’s calling. Let me go,” I said, patting his hand that was on my wrist.

“Leave her be,” Lucien said calmly, pulling me tighter into his arms.

“Brother! Scarlett! Open the door!”

I rubbed my temples and slipped Lucien’s hands from around my waist as I climbed out of bed–he got up too so we could open the door together.

There they were, Kathleen and Draco, both greeting us with wide smiles.

“I’m here to get Scarlett ready for her perfect day!” Kathleen said excitedly, winking at me, which made me laugh.

Lucien glanced coldly at Draco. “And you?”

“I’m here to help you get ready too, brother–in–law,” Draco said playfully, making Lucien’s face darken.

“No thanks. I can handle it alone,” he said coldly, making Draco look at me as if to silently ask for help.

Lucien, however, caught on and cut him off. “Don’t look at my wife.”

Kathleen rolled her eyes. “Soon–to–be wife. Now come on, time’s ticking! Let Draco help you.”

Lucien was about to refuse, but I patted his hand, catching his attention.

“Go on,” I said, leaving him no choice but to nod his head.

Chapter 144

He leaned down and kissed my forehead. “I’ll see you later.”

I smiled and nodded. “We’ll see each other soon.”

After that, Kathleen dragged me to her room, grinning from ear to ear.

“I’ve never seen my brother act so spoiled and clingy,” Kathleen remarked, making me chuckle.

“Well, he’s a big Alpha, but acts like a baby sometimes,” I said helplessly.

“Well, he really is a big baby,” she teased, opening the door. “Now, let’s give you a full glam makeover!”

As soon as I entered her room, I saw a mannequin draped with the most breathtaking gown I had ever seen.

I froze.

The dress shimmered when the morning light hit it. The delicate embroidery sparkled too. The fabric seemed to glow on its own, as if the Moon Goddess herself had woven it.

My breath caught, and I pressed my trembling hands to my lips.

Kathleen, watching my excited reaction, chuckled. “I knew you’d love it. Gorgeous, isn’t it?”

Before I could answer, the door opened again and we both turned toward three familiar faces. It was the three omegas I had saved before, when the rogue attacked and one of them was taken hostage.

“Congratulations, Luna!” they exclaimed, their voices bright. “For your baby, and for your happy wedding!”

My throat swelled with emotion and I swallowed hard. “Thank you… truly.”

Kathleen laughed and clapped her hands. “Alright, alright! You three, let’s get to work. Let’s make her shine brighter than the moon!”

“Yes!” They clapped along with her, making me laugh.

They gathered around me to plait and style my hair. Their hands were gentle, and Kathleen stayed behind them, brushing light makeup onto my cheeks.

“Not too much,” I heard her murmur. “No need for extra foundation; you’re already pale enough.”

I chuckled and let her work. It wasn’t until she was about to put on the false eyelashes that she suddenly exclaimed, “I told you to rest early! Why are there circles under your eyes?!”

I looked at her helplessly, and she glared at me, dabbing concealer around my eyes to hide the bags. “You didn’t stay up all night having sex, did you?”

My eyes widened. “Kathleen! There’s a kid here!”

Kathleen glanced at the three omegas who were busy styling my hair. “They didn’t hear.”

I studied my reflection as they worked. Slowly, the woman in the mirror transformed–not into a wolf, but a different version of myself. Elegant, radiant, glowing, as if I was someone who hadn’t missed out on sleep the night before, with my undereye bags carefully hidden.

My gaze fell on the gown, and I couldn’t stop myself from saying, “It’s really beautiful.”

So beautiful and dreamy, I couldn’t look away.

Kathleen smiled. “Your Alpha picked it for you. He knew you’d look best in it, and he knew you’d love it.”

Indeed. Not just love–I adored it.

Warmth flooded my chest, my gaze softened, and my fingers curled in my lap as though I could hold on to this feeling forever.

When the three omegas finished my hair, Kathleen helped me into the gown from the mannequin.

Once I put it on, it fit perfectly, hugging my body. Kathleen secured my veil and finally stepped back.

“There. Perfect!”

I rose carefully, the silk gown pooling onto the floor around me.

Kathleen’s eyes reddened. “You’re finally getting married, Sca. I still remember when you called me for help the day you finally decided to break free from Alexander. Now, you’re about to start a new chapter as a wife. You are seen, loved, and respected.”

Tears stung my eyes as I listened, and I almost let them spill until one of the omegas quickly interrupted, “No, no, Luna! Please, don’t cry, or we’ll ruin your makeup!”

Kathleen barked out a laugh, half choked and half joyous. “She’s right. Don’t ruin my hard work.”

I laughed quietly, blinking away the tears. My heart trembled, overflowing with joy, contentment, and love.

Pure, overwhelming love.

When Kathleen clasped my hand and led me toward the ceremonial grounds, I trembled for a different reason. I saw warriors and guests who had witnessed my journey from my lowest point to now–members of both the Crescent Moon and Nightshade packs had come for the wedding.

Kathleen had contacted everyone, surprising me since our marriage had only just been decided for today.

I whispered, “Thank you.”

Kathleen laughed. “It’s nothing. As long as you’re happy.”

I smiled. “You too. You should be happy.”
