Chapter 208 Attack the Monter
Chapter 208 Attack the Montero
Scarlett
It has been two days since the last of my conversation with Lucien, telling him to go infiltrate and deal with the Monteros while I stay here and protest our pack.
Honestly, I was reluctant to let him go–worry creeped in on me, afraid that something might happen despite I know he is strong and could handle himself. But what can I do? These feelings of worry wouldn’t stop until I knew and assured that he would come back safe and sound.
I wanted to go with him, so that at least I am there if something happens. I would be with him to watch his back as we deal with those motherfuckers.
But he’s right. I have to stay in the pack and protect the pack so that he can fight with all his might without worrying that something might happen to the pack.
I trusted his strength and abilities to deal with the Monteros.
But those motherfuckers weren’t easily to deal with. They are the type who won’t play fair–given that they had made someone from our pack who was loyal to us, turn their backs to us.
They had those kinds of abilities, as if they could hypnotize–no, manipulate the wolves‘ heart, easily that they could use at their will, ordering them around as if they controlled them like puppets.
Those three traitors that had been found had the same results when Arnold and Nick tortured them.
They all worship their new lord, and their deepest desire had been amplified–as if the envy, jealousy, and security that they had tried to hide, had been used and doubled.
I had contacted Natasha yesterday, telling her that Lucien would go to raid the Monteros and ask for her member’s help. She agreed right away and sent four of his people to go with Lucien, Agnes was also included.
Upon hearing this, I was relieved and slowly let go of my worries.
Early in the morning, I had watched as Lucien and the elite warriors had departed. There were a total of ten wolves with him -saying that it was better for him to raid with small numbers, preventing casualties especially if what he bought with him was good at fighting.
I’m sure that if Kane would know that Lucien and the others had left to raid the Montero, he would as well want to tag along. It just happened that he was still healing from his injuries and was recuperating well along with the children who decided to never leave our room.
And it made me feel guilty about it.
“Mama, where’s papa?” I snapped from my thoughts, shifting my gaze at Archer who was rubbing his eyes–who had just woken up–and yawned.
“Papa had business to deal so he left for a while,” I gently answered, walking towards him and patting his head, “He’ll be back in no time once he’s done with his work.”
Archer obediently nodded his head as looked at me in the eyes. “So you really could see, mama…” [
I paused, the corner of my lips raised and wasn’t surprised that he knew about it despite that I had been wearing the blindfold.
“Yeah, I can see now.” I softly answered.
“Since when?” he asked.
“Since I had woke up which was two days ago,” I sighed, running his hair with my fingers. “You and Claude suffered a lot and mama is guilty that she wasn’t able to protect you well. I’m sorry.”
Archer paused, his eyes widened, then he grabbed my hand and shook his head. “We don’t blame you, mama. It should be those bad adults that we should blame. Because of them, they had hurt Claude.”
I pressed my lips and gently patted his head while my eyes fell onto Claude whose quality of sleep had never been good these days, and this was his first time sleeping peacefully which relieved me.
“Indeed,” I said softly, patting his head. “Papa will make them taste their own medicine.”
Archer lifted his head at once, eyes wide. “Papa successfully unlocked!
I didn’t hide the truth from them. There was no point–these children were far too sharp for half–truths, especially Claude
I nodded. “Yes.”

His small hands clenched the blanket. Before fear could bloom fully, I continued gently, steady and calm.
That’s why, white–Papa is away, we’ll stay here. We’ll protect this pack together,” I said, brushing my fingers through his hair. So Papa can fight without worry, knowing everything he loves is safe.”
Archer swallowed, then nodded slowly, as if àccepting a duty far larger than his years.
“We’ll wait for Papa to come back,” he murmured.
“Yes,” I whispered, pulling him closer. “And when he does… everything will already be where it belongs.”
Safe.
Seeing that his face had brightened and fire in him had ignited, I breath a sigh in relief as he looked at me with those bright eyes.
“Mama, should we patrol the pack everyday to make sure that no assassins or those bad adults could get in?” he asked, clearly was pleased with those ideas and probably in his head, he was already thinking of helping to protect the pack.
And seeing excited and looked determined, I couldn’t bring myself to dampen it, especially that he had been staying in this room, afraid to go out anymore because of what happened and when I ask him to go out with me, he would say that he didn’t want to leave Claude and would like to stay here–which I know that he just doesn’t want to go out.
Seeing the once carefree, and our sunshine slowly dimmed its lights all because of what happened, it made my heart ache and felt like there was a lump in my throat.
How I wish it was me whom they targeted instead of my son instead. It would be better if they haven’t experienced what they experienced at the hands of those Monteros.
I pressed my lips together and looked at Archer in the eyes who were shining, awaiting for my answer.
“Okay, we will protect the pack together,” I softly answered. “Once Claude wakes up.”
Hearing this, the corner of his lips raised as he whispered a ‘yey‘ smiling widely. “Then let’s wait for Claude to wake up and let’s go on a patrol to make sure that those bad guys won’t be able to roam around here and hurt someone.”
Right, before letting them roarn around to go on a patrol with me, I have to make sure that everything is safe and there’s no more traitors roaming around.
Three traitors had been caught two days ago, and for whether there are still more or not, I will leave it to Kaya to handle since I cannot and does not dare to leave my children alone again for fear that something might happen and I am not there to protect them.
