The moment I stepped my foot in the door, my gaze fell onto Kathleen who had burred her face on the pillow, lying on the sofa, while Kane was currently doing his push ups without any care about the world.

Upon sensing my presence, his gaze fell on me.

Before he could ask, I cut him off, pointing at Kathleen who was screaming with her face buried on the pillow.

“What’s going on with her?” I asked.

Kane shrugged his shoulder as he paused from his push–ups without even breaking a sweat despite that he still had white gauge on his head and body.

“I don’t know why she’s acting like that either,” Kane answered. “She’s gone crazy.”

“You’re the crazy one!” Kathleen retorted despite her voice muffled from the pillow. “Your entire family is the crazy one!”

Before they would banter again like they usually do whenever they see each other, I stepped in, sighing helplessly.

“Kathleen.” I called her out.

Kathleen, with her hair a mess, her eyes swollen, not even caring about her image about, raised her head and looked at me while pouting. “What?”

I smiled at her as I glided to the left, letting the Alpha right behind me fully be in view.

I watched as her eyes stared at the Alpha in front of her. Her whole body froze, her eyes widened in disbelief as she let out a gasped.

Realizing what was happening, she hurriedly smoothed her hair and wiped her face before she looked at me, glaring as her eyes were trembling.

“Y–You lied to me!” she uttered, stuttering as if she couldn’t even pronounce or utter those words correctly, clearly was affected by her Alpha’s presence.

I didn’t answer her, instead, my gaze fell onto Draco whose gaze never left on her, staring at her as if he wanted to carve her face onto his heart.

Upon sensing my gaze, he reluctantly broke his contact and turned to look at me.

“Can I go to her?” he asked cautiously as if he wasn’t that mighty Draco, an Alpha who would purge his enemies.

I nodded my head, the corner of my lips raised. “Go and take her to the west wing. There’s a vacant room there–or you could just take her to her room, you know where it is, right?”

He nodded his head and without hesitation, he walked towards Kathleen where she was frozen on her spot upon seeing Draco.

Seeing that he was getting nearer to her, she snapped back, looking at him with wary, longing–with mixed emotions.

“W… What are you doing here?” she managed to utter those words while her eyes couldn’t even look at him straight in the

eyes.

Draco kneeled one leg on the floor to tnatch her face. His hands trembled as it reached her cheeks, gently touching it as if he was touching a diäinend.

“Can we talk?” his voice was soft and gentle, locking an eye at Kathleen who had long become mute and couldn’t even speak properly.

As if even breathing too loudly would break something fragile between them.

It was Kane who ruined it.

“Have you become mute?” he asked bluntly.

Kathleen snapped immediately. “Shut up. This is why you still haven’t found your mate.”

He rolled his eyes. “Whatever.”

Then he crossed his arms. “Come on. Answer him already. You two are really annoying.”

I closed my eyes for a second and felt helpless in this situation.

It wasn’t until Kathleen spoke at Draco who was waiting for her answer, didn’t even break an eye contact with her while his hands were holding hers tightly as if he was afraid that she would leave or might disappear again from his sight.

“Let’s go and talk,” Kathleen answered.

Hearing this, Draco’s eyes brightened as the corner of his lips raised. Without hesitation, he scooped her from the sofa, wrapping his hand around her waist as she carried her in a bridal style.

Kathleen yelped, her eyes widened as her arms instinctively wrapped around his neck, as if she was afraid that she might fall.

But I know, Draco won’t let her fall.

And she knows that either.

Draco’s eyes fell on me as he nodded his head, his gaze were filled with gratitude. “Thank you, Luna. I’ll make sure to protect

her.”

I paused, the corner of my lips raised and nodded my head. “Make sure to talk everything you want to talk and avoid any misunderstanding between the two of you. Both of you just need to sort your situation.”

Especially that even blind could see that they love each other and would willing to sacrifice themselves for each other.

That’s how they love each other.

And seeing them like this…. like a teenage lovers who just got together for the first time, made me start missing Lucien who was away to deal with the Monteros and I wonder how he is right now, whether he’s safe along with the warriors and if they managed to subdue the Monteros.

“We’ll come back later, Sca!” Kathleen waved her hands, her eyes were shining brightly as she was waving her hands at me as Draco was walking away.

I rolled my eyes and waved back. “No need to come back here tonight. You can come and meet me tomorrow! Enjoy the ride–I mean, night!”

Kathleen’s cheeks reddened as soon as she realized what I meant as she gave me a glare before the door was closed, leaving

us four alone in the room.

My gaze fell onto Kane. “Is there still no news about Lucien?”

Kane paused, shaking his head “I asked the patrols earlier if there are any messages regarding about the Alpha, yet they all shook their heads and told me there’s none.”

I nodded my head, sighing helplessly.

“Don’t worry, Luna. As soon as the Alpha would send a message, we will notify you,” he calmly said.

Hearing this, I smiled. “I know. It’s just that I couldn’t help but worry about him knowing that he was up against to a strong influencial family.”
