Chapter 7
Sebastian knew exactly what I meant. The color drained from his face completely,
Before he could respond, angry voices exploded from the terrace.
Claire Ashford Ashford Industries heiress who’d been obsessed with Hades forever-had Natalie cornered with Sophie and a few other girls backing her up.
“This is your fault! I actually had a chance before you screwed everything up! Now Gianna’s married to Hades and I’m left with nothing!”
Claire moved to shove her. Natalie slapped her hand away viciously.
“I’m Mrs. Hawk now. You really wanna try me?”
“You’re such a bitch! Wait till Sebastian hears what you really are!”
“My marriage is rock solid. Mind your own business.”
The instant those words left her mouth, Sophie charged forward and cracked her across the face.
Sebastian took half a step toward them, then stopped cold when Sophie’s voice cut through the night.
“We all saw what you did at that jewelry store! You threw yourself over that railing on purpose to set Gianna up!”
“Sebastian’s been sending literal truckloads of gifts to Hades’ place begging Gianna to forgive him. Even after she sends them back, he keeps trying. Think he’ll still want you when he knows the truth?”
Natalie snapped. Her voice went high and vicious. “Who cares?! I got him once-I’ll get him again!”
“God, you’re disgusting! My dad set me up with this investor, and you swooped in and seduced my fiancé because you thought he had money! Then his family got investigated and you dropped him so fast he almost killed himself!”
“And recently-your parents wanted you to marry some professor’s son, but you decided he was worthless. So you faked drowning to trap Sebastian and destroyed his relationship with Gianna! All of that was you!”
Sophie turned to walk away. Natalie launched herself forward and grabbed a fistful of Sophie’s hair.
“You bitch! I earned everything I have! You’re not taking it from me!”
She went absolutely wild-punching, clawing, screaming. Claire and the others tried to pull them apart and got scratched bloody trying.
This wasn’t the soft, delicate girl everyone thought they knew.
“You’re psycho! You just attacked me!”
“So what?! Sebastian’s gonna protect me anyway!”
Then she kicked Sophie hard in the ribs while she was down, whipped around, and hurled herself into the fountain, shrieking for help.
Sebastian and I watched the entire thing.
I let out a cold laugh and turned to leave.
Then-thud.

Chapter 7
Sebastian dropped to his knees right in front of me.
“Glanna…” His voice cracked. “I get it now. Gud, I was such an idiot. This whole time…”.
I looked down at him, inouth twisting into something hitter.
“Way too late for that. Take care, Sebastian.”
1 headed back into the ballroom and spotted Hades scanning the crowd for me.
I’d barely started explaining what happened when security marched Claire, Sophie, Natalie, and the others through the doors.
Scratched faces. Hair a mess.
Natalie looked the worst-strapped to a stretcher, drenched and out cold after nearly drowning herself in that fountain.
The Hawk family officially became the scandal of the century that night.
After everything went down, they put Natalie under lockdown.
When she finally came to and started screaming for Sebastian, he showed up all right-with proof she’d leaked the wedding swap story herself.
Slapped divorce papers right in her face. She fainted again on the spot.
