Gold Digger vs Gold Saver My Man's Double Life novel Chapter 38

Chapter 7

Looking at him like this, I laughed softly.

“What? Feel ashamed now?”

“You seemed pretty happy when you were sleeping with Victoria. Didn’t think I’d find out someday?”

“Or maybe you wanted to have your cake and eat it too-a devoted wife at home and a mistress on the side? Adrian Cross, you’re dreaming!”

The moment my words landed, Adrian completely collapsed

He stood there, all his excuses and pretenses looking pathetically weak. He staggered back two steps, leaning against the fence behind him to barely stay upright.

“Elena, I…” He opened his mouth but found he couldn’t explain a single word. With the facts laid bare, any words were meaningless.

“Adrian Cross.” I looked at his defeated face and continued: “You know what? The moment I discovered that house

deed wasn’t in my name, I’d never felt more exhausted-more than when I worked three jobs a day.”

“I lived in that basement with you, ate nothing but bread with you, helped you pay off tens of millions in debt-not so you could use our home and our money to support another woman after making your comeback!”

“Your mother was right. You’re just an ungrateful bastard. I was too good to you-made you forget where you came

from.”

Adrian shook his head frantically.

“Elena, of course I remember you were there during the hardest times. I’ll never forget, I wouldn’t dare forget!”

“I just took a wrong turn for a moment. That night with Victoria wasn’t what you think-let me…”

“Enough!”

I cut off his excuses.

“After all the bastard things you’ve done, why would you think I’d look back?”

Seeing the finality in my face, Adrian finally broke down.

He crouched on the ground, covering his face in agony, his soulders shaking through his fingers.

Chapter 7

But now, my heart would no longer waver.

“I want you to sign the divorce papers as soon as possible.” turned to go back inside. “I just want to cut ties with you quickly and start my new life.”

“No!” He suddenly rushed over and hugged me from behind with such force it felt like he wanted to merge me into his bones and blood.

“Elena, don’t divorce me! I can’t live without you! Give me ofe more chance-I’ll spend my life making it up to you!”

Hot tears soaked through my thin clothes, burning against my back.

I didn’t struggle, just spoke coldly: “Let go.”

“I won’t! I’d rather die than let go!”

“Adrian Cross,” my voice held no warmth, “we could have ended this cleanly.”

I pried his hands off my waist finger by finger and turned to face him directly.

“Do you remember this place? It’s where we planned our honeymoon. You know how much I looked forward to it.”

After I said this, Adrian looked at me in shock, his eyes full of confusion-clearly not remembering this place.

How ridiculous.

My voice began to tremble: “But you kept breaking that promise, becoming impatient with my invitations.”
