Gold Moon Mated To The Beta Twins (Meadow) novel Chapter 474

Chapter 474 Backup Plan of Eric

The next day, the stuff Stella had left with ViperShade was delivered right to the training base by Dorestan Express, since Sebastian had given them a heads-up.

There was also a package from Haliville that showed up at the same time.

After finishing combat training with the new Red Shadow recruits, Sebastian grabbed both packages and headed up the mountain.

The thick, steamy haze almost seemed alive. As Sebastian drew near, it parted for him, even shaping itself into an arrow in midair, pointing him up the mountain.

Sebastian lifted his gaze, unfazed, and strolled toward the summit, taking his time.

Soon, he spotted Stella.

She was wearing a loose black hoodie, sleeves rolled up to her elbows, skimming through her ultra-thin laptop

at breakneck speed. She’d just hung up the phone and didn’t bother to look up. “Sebastian.”

“Hmm?” Stella replied.

He stopped, packages still in hand.

Stella said, “You’re blocking my light.”

Sebastian was speechless.

He slowly sat down beside her. “What are you looking at?”

Stella turned her laptop so Sebastian could see. On the screen was the International Military Council’s encrypted site, and the roster of everyone who’d landed on the island was already up there, photos and bios included.

“What’s up with him?” Sebastian said as he glanced at where the cursor hovered. It was a pretty handsome guy from Yaloria, flashing a bright smile.

Stella tilted her head. “Nothing, just thought he looked kinda cute.”

Sebastian thought, ‘Seriously?

‘Kinda cute?’

The next second, Sebastian, expressionless, nudged Blackie out of the way and propped his chin up right next to Stella.

He stared at Stella.

Blackie felt silent.

‘Better get out of here while I can, Blackie thought.

Sebastian didn’t say a word. At first, his handsome face was unreadable, but as Stella showed zero intention of comforting him, he got moodler by the second.

Suddenly, he reached out, tilted her chin up, and kissed her. “Am I not easy on your eyes?”

Stella froze.

Before she could respond, Sebastian loosened his collar, letting a glimpse of his skin show.

He was pure temptation.

Sebastian glanced up at her. “Last night, when you came back, you only kissed Lucas.”

Stella was speechless.

‘I just said it without thinking, and now he’s got a whole list of lines waiting for me?’ Stella thought.

“You-” Sebastian started, but Stella, in her usual laid-back way, just reached out and covered his mouth with her hand.

She called softly, “Sebastian.”

Sebastian blinked.

Stella added, “Shush.”

Sebastian shot her a deadpan look.

Stella glanced at the packages and raised an eyebrow. “Are those for me?”

Sebastian nodded and pushed them toward her.

Right in front of him, Stella ripped open the package sent from the island. Inside was a small medical freezer. With a click, she popped it open, and a puff of cold mist escaped, revealing a few liquid-filled vials sitting inside.

“What’s this?” Sebastian frowned.

Stella glanced up. “It’s the base virus for the genetic sequence, plus some purified enzyme proteins.”

Hearing those words, Sebastian fell silent, his eyes distant and lost in thought.

Stella glanced at him, her tone gentle. “Are you not going to ask more?”

After a long moment, Sebastian’s voice came out hoarse. “Eric.”

Stella paused. “Eric sent me these eight vials of unfinished enzyme protein about two weeks before everything went down with him. He wanted me to stash them for him.”

Sebastian’s lashes flickered.

“Unfinished?” he repeated.

Stella gave a quiet hum. “Eric always kept something up his sleeve back then.”

Sebastian tensed up, instinctively reaching for Stella’s hand. After a moment, he said, “Go on.”

Stella explained, “He already had a feeling something was about to go wrong. And he knew that if something happened to him and Holly, you’d end up blaming yourself for everything.

“So, to make sure you’d survive, he made you the walking cure for the genetic virus. But he was also worried that if anyone ever found out about this secret, you might get hurt because of it.

“That’s why he specially created these eight unfinished enzyme proteins, as a backup, just in case things went south.”

With their fingers intertwined, Stella could feel Sebastian trembling ever so slightly.

“Sebastian, your brother… He really loves you,” Stella said, her voice gentle.

Sebastian took a deep breath. “I know.”

He paused, then said it again, “Stella, I know.”

“So,” Stella said, her gaze sharpened, and she gently brushed her fingers over the corner of his eye, “don’t worry. I’ll finish what Eric started and turn these into the real cure.”

Stella smiled.

Stella just shrugged it off, cool as a cucumber.

Sebastian nodded.

His heart was pounding like crazy.

It was 2 PM at Jaffina International Airport. Travelers heading out of Jaffina couldn’t help but notice that security was way tighter than usual today.

Extra SWAT teams were everywhere, patrolling nonstop. The whole place had that tense, high-alert vibe that anyone only ever saw on TV when some foreign leader is visiting.

At the terminal exit, SWAT teams were stationed everywhere, weapons at the ready.

The entire waiting area had been cleared out.

Amidst the empty rows of seats, a girl in a black hoodie sat with her legs crossed as if she owned the place. Her face was mostly hidden by the hood, leaving only the elegant curve of her jaw in view.

Beside her sat a striking beauty, looking as sleek and alluring as a cat.

Soon, a few young guys showed up, all wearing black masks so you couldn’t see their faces.

There was a whole crowd trailing behind them.

The SWAT teams sprang into action, closing in fast.

“Young Sovereign, they’re here,” Cassie said, dressed in a sleek black Chanel suit with her hair pinned up, showing off her pale neck. She looked all business, ready for anything.

Stella, eyes closed a moment ago, slowly fluttered her lashes open.
