Gold Moon Mated To The Beta Twins (Meadow) novel Chapter 475

Chapter 475 The Clinton Family Drowning in Regret

Lachlan rubbed his eyes.

He wondered if his mind was playing tricks on him.

But when Stella actually stopped right in front of him, Lachlan’s jaw nearly hit the floor. ‘Is that really her?’ he thought, totally floored.

Stella gave a slight nod, her expression calm and composed.

“What are you doing at Jaffina-?” Lachlan started to ask.

But before he could finish, his eyes landed on someone at the very back of the crowd, and he froze on the spot.

‘The station chief?’ Lachlan wondered.

There was the head of Jaffina Channel, shooting him a look that told him in no uncertain terms to go do his job and stop causing trouble.

Lachlan was totally lost. ‘What the hell is going on?’ he wondered.

“Just here to record a show,” Stella replied casually.

She was rocking DenimKraft’s black women’s suit today, her long hair loose down her back, paired with handpicked white pearl accessories. She had this icy vibe that was just breathtaking.

“Uh, okay,” Lachlan stammered.

‘Record a show?’ he thought, still in disbelief.

With that, Stella kept walking, a whole entourage trailing behind her like a parade.

Lachlan just stood there, watching her walk straight into Studio 1. ‘Wait, isn’t that the news studio for Jaffina Channel?’ he thought.

Lachlan was left speechless.

As if he’d just been struck by lightning.

‘Holy crap, I just stumbled onto something huge!’ he thought.

Night had fallen.

It was seven o’clock. All across the city, lights were coming on in every home.

After dinner, people were settling in for some TV time, but tonight, something unexpected interrupted their evening.

Everyone stared at the screen in shock.

At the Clinton family’s house, the air was so heavy that anyone could cut it with a knife.

On the seven o’clock news, Jaffina Channel was running a full five-minute segment about Lab 709.

Aveline just sat there, pale and listless. Her mind was somewhere else as she kept whispering, “Stella, Stella,” as if she was clinging to a lifeline.

Dexter, propped up on his crutch, quietly slipped into the kitchen to fetch her some of that bitter traditional brew, his face clouded with worry.

Suddenly, Aveline screamed, “Get out!” Her voice was so sharp it made Dexter’s hand tremble.

Dexter stepped out of the kitchen.

The servants were frozen in fear, not daring to move, and the place was a total mess. Broken glass and dishes were everywhere.

Sophie, pale as a sheet, had somehow slipped downstairs without anyone noticing and sat right across from Aveline on purpose, bandages still wrapped around her wrist “Mem” she said quietly.

“Shut up! Just shut up!” Aveline screamed hysterically.

Her shouting was so loud that even Emerson and Ryker came rushing down from upstairs.

Even though they still lived under the same roof, ever since the family’s dirty laundry got aired out, Emerson and Ryker acted like rivals who refused to even be in the same room at work.

In just a few days, Emerson had completely sidelined Ryker and taken full control of the Clinton Group for himself.

“What’s your problem now?” Ryker snapped, his tone sharp and impatient.

“Dad, don’t blame Mom. It’s all my fault. I shouldn’t have come downstairs,” Sophie said, her voice trembling, tears threatening to spill.

Suddenly, the bitter scent of the medicine spread through the huge room. Everyone’s heads snapped toward Dexter, only to see that he was staring at the TV as if he’d just seen a ghost, his finger trembling as he pointed.

“S-Stella?!” he stammered, barely believing his own eyes. ‘Why is Stella showing up on the news?’ he thought, completely stunned.

Everyone in the Clinton family whipped their heads toward the TV, eyes wide in shock.

Sophie’s eyes nearly popped out of her head.

Sophie stared at the screen, seeing Stella being interviewed as the head of Lab 709. She jumped up so fast that she knocked the vase off the coffee table, and the vase crashed to the floor.

Sophie thought, ‘No!

‘This can’t be happening!’

Everyone who knew Stella was freaking out. Social media was blowing up, and people just couldn’t stop talking about her.

In the Training Base Cafeteria, it was lively just moments before, but as soon as Stella showed up on TV, it went dead silent. Everyone sat there, fork in hand, totally stunned, eyes glued to the screen.

“Holy crap! Am I hallucinating? Is that my boss on TV?” Joey gasped, barely breathing.

Next to him, Noe and the other veterans were frozen, just as shell-shocked. All of them glued to the TV, mouths hanging open.

On the screen, Stella was answering the reporter’s questions. Her big boss vibes were so strong that anyone could feel them through the TV.

Joey and the rest were absolutely gobsmacked. Never in a million years did they think the drill sergeant, who’d been working them to the bone all day, would be making headlines on the news tonight.

Not far away, Vincent and the others all whipped their heads around to stare at Sebastian, who was up front sharing a table with Hudson and Murray.

Right then, Sebastian was just calmly eating his meal, totally unfazed.

“Sebastian, you…” Murray stammered, still feeling like he was in a dream.

Murray thought, ‘Damn, this is the official news!

‘I’d been around forever, and the only time I’d ever made it on TV was in a crowd shot at some big ceremony. But now, Stella is getting her own solo interview, and in a prime time slot, no less!

‘Literally everyone in Clusia could see this!’

Sebastian ignored him and offered Lucas a piece of braised pork. “Open up,” he said.

Lucas was just blank, totally spaced out.

He opened his mouth.

Stone-faced, Sebastian stuffed the meat right in.

Lucas started chewing, making little smacking noises.

He pondered for a while.

“It’s Stella,” he said, totally earnest.

Sebastian just gave a half-hearted “mm” in response.

Meanwhile, on TV, Stella was officially announcing to the world that Lab 709 would soon be moving its entire operation back to Clusia, and the city they’d picked was none other than Haliville.

The whole country was in an uproar.

Caleb’s phone was blowing up. His colleagues were calling him nonstop, desperate for details.

In Dragon Hill, “Sir, it’s Ms. Carter!” Charlie, the guard, exclaimed, his eyes wide in shock as he turned to Bernard.

Bernard was watching the TV, with Salem sitting beside him, just having finished his medicine.

“Salem,” Bernard called out.

Suddenly, Bernard let out a deep sigh, and Salem felt his heart clench.

“Dad?” Salem called out.

“She’s putting herself right in the middle of it,” Bernard said with a shake of his head. No matter how many questions Salem asked after that, Bernard just kept quiet, refusing to say another word.

At the Clinton family’s house, the silence was suffocating.

“No!” Sophie suddenly snatched up the remote from the table and hurled it at the TV with all her might. The force of her movement made her vision go black for a moment.

Sophie thought, ‘Lab 709!
