Chapter 481 Rules Are Made by the Strong
An hour later, the dumbfounded Clusia soldiers had been pecked by a fat bird and then herded over by those now “oh-so-polite” vines to meet Stella and her crew.
The first thing that hit them was the irresistible smell of grilled fish. The aroma was so intense it practically punched them in the face, making their mouths water like a busted faucet.
Stella, sitting off to the side cleaning her gun, raised an eyebrow and said, “What are you all standing there for? Come and eat.”
In a split second, the whole group charged forward as if they hadn’t eaten in a hundred years..
“Slow down! Don’t hog it!” Joey yelled, craning his neck to make himself heard.
He tossed on Stella’s signature seasoning, and with a satisfying sizzle, the whole batch of more than twenty fish vanished in seconds.
Joey was completely speechless.
“I thought we were gonna be stuck eating raw meat after we landed!” one of the guys sobbed, tears streaming down his face as he stuffed his mouth with grilled fish.
He had no idea what kind of hell they’d been through since hitting the ground. If Stella hadn’t prepped them, he would’ve been game over the second he touched down.
Noe, shoveling fish into his mouth, mumbled with his mouth full, “Where do you guys get the fish?”
“Those things under your butts brought us,” Joey replied, totally unfazed.
‘Wait, under our butts?’ the others thought.
Everyone froze mid-chew and looked down. Blending in with the ground like tree stumps were a bunch of massive, toothless crocodiles, all glaring up at them and giving them the evil eye.
But then Sebastian gave them a totally chill look, and the crocodiles instantly went into panic mode. ‘Oh crap!’ they thought.
The crocodiles gave a cheeky, ear-to-ear grin.
On cue, all together now.
They smiled.
Every single one flashed the exact same awkward smile, perfectly in sync.
Everyone was dumbfounded.
‘Damn it! This world has got it all!’ they thought.
After everyone had eaten their fill, Joey got down to business.
Using everyone’s accounts, he quickly sketched out a map of Sumepa Island. The secret research facility was set in the most fortified spot imaginable, cliffs at its back, a dangerous rainforest in front.
Just picturing how much blood it must’ve taken to carve out that place was enough to make anyone shudder.
“The biggest problem now is…” Perry looked around at everyone, then repeated what he and Joey had learned earlier.
Everyone’s faces turned grim.
Noe was the first to snap out of it. “If those researchers are already dead, and Mike gets his hands on the data before we do. Then, we and this island would lose our last bit of value. I’m worried…”
“The International Military Council might blow up the island early, just to keep Monterra happy.” He paused, glancing at Stella and Sebastian.
Stella raised an eyebrow.
She gave Noe a half-smile, with a knowing took

She lifted her hand.
Chirp. The peregrine falcon, sent out for the second time, swooped back and landed right in her palm.
After fussing with its damp feathers for a couple of seconds, it gave a quick peck on Joey’s map, pinpointing exactly where Mike and his crew were at that moment.
Everyone went dead silent.
The situation was looking pretty grim. Mike’s squad was moving faster than anyone had planned.
Stella spoke up, her tone cool and almost teasing, “Isn’t it simple? We just have to get the data before Mike does.”
Everyone was totally floored.
They all thought, ‘Has Ms. Carter gone crazy?
‘Mike and his Monterra soldiers had a shortcut. There is no way in hell they could beat him to the data!
“Ms. Carter…” Noe started, but trailed off, not sure what to say.
Even Joey thought Stella was being a little crazy this time.
Only Sebastian stayed cool, saying, “Here.”
He spoke in that icy tone of his, and his slender, almost unreal finger tapped a spot on the map.
Everyone was instantly floored.
Because the place Sebastian pointed to was none other than the cliff right behind the secret research facility.
Stella raised an eyebrow. “I’ll go.”
“No way! Absolutely not!” Joey was the first to object. He thought, ‘That’s a sheer cliff. One wrong step and people are toast, not even a bone left. Is the boss seriously planning to go that way?
‘Is she out of her mind?’
Stella lounged back, locking eyes with Sebastian. “I’ll take a shortcut and head to the research facility first. You bring the team and meet me there.”
“Alright,” Sebastian replied.
He didn’t bother with any extra words.
He trusted her.
Joey was completely at a loss.
‘Seriously, these two are out of their minds!’ he thought.
After finishing, Sebastian paused, grabbed her wrist, and slipped a single-shot sleeve arrow with a lion engraving into Stella’s sleeve. “Go. I’ll stall Mike and his guys. See you at the research facility.”
Joey and the crew just stared, totally speechless.
They watched as Stella handed Sebastian the gun she’d cleaned for him, then turned and slipped straight into the shadows without a backward glance.
“Mr. Gray!” Joey practically felt chills run down his spine.
Sebastian kept his eyes on her until she was gone, then his usual icy vibe snapped back. “Everyone stuffed?
Good. Let’s roll!”
Five hours later, the signal flares marking the lives of soldiers from different countries kept shooting up into the sky.
Except for Monterra and Clusia, the other ten teams had all taken hits, but the six treaty allies got it the worst. Since they got the heads-up early, all the treaty allies sent in their expendables.
Just like Stella had guessed, they were the first batch sent straight to the slaughter.

In the International Military Council Headquarters, Hudson was the first to notice something was off.
Monterra’s people kept bugging Frederick, the boss of the International Military Council, and he was frowning so hard you’d think his eyebrows might snap. He was clearly stuck making a tough call.
Half an hour later, a military plane packed with heavy explosives was already hovering over Sumepa Island, just waiting for the signal to drop its deadly cargo.
Bang! The Clusia officials slammed the table, making the other country reps shrink back, not daring to utter a word. “We agreed on seventy-two hours! Who the hell said you could prep to blow up the island early?”
Mark let out a cold laugh. “If Fever Syndrome escapes the island, are you Clusia folks ready to take responsibility for that?”
