Raelynn

“Cheers to our biggest victory, Ray.‘”
My parents raised the toast, their faces glowing with the success of their plan.
“Thank you so much, Mom, Dad. I don’t have enough words to express my happiness. I still can’t believe that Tessa is gone from Logan’s life forever.” I leaned back on the sofa with the sparkling liquid in my hand.
“It wasn’t easy to convince that dying man. He refused to help me at first but who says no to money, especially someone who was already on the brink of dying. I only played my only chance.” My mom said.
She wore the biggest smile on her face.
“Mom, still I must say that you played safe. Logan and police couldn’t reach the truth. Your man killed himself in the prison. If he hadn’t killed himself, someone from his gang would kill him later but you convert it in your only chance.” I said.
Logan believed that I had nothing to do with his daughter’s kidnapping.
It was my parents.
“Ray, but she took Lucas with her? He is your son, your only way to win Logan back and make your place in their lives again.” My father frowned.
“Dad, Lucas would never accept me. He is my son but that witch has completely brainwashed him. I don’t have time to waste on a spoiled kid who sees me as a villain. I can make more babies with Logan.” I smirked and they raised their glasses again.
“You’re our daughter, smart and intelligent. We’re confident that you’ll soon make Logan chase you like a lovesick knight again.” My Mom said.
“Let him grieve for some time. It’ll be easier to apply ointment on his emotional wounds later.” I said.
But our celebration was interrupted by a maid.
“Miss Cowper, Mr. Logan Wilferd is here and he wants to see you.” The maid informed me, her head down with fear.
I exchanged looks with my parents. Our smiles disappeared because Logan coming to our house wasn’t a good news.
“You should go first. Please, be patient. His emotional state must be vulnerable.” My Dad advised me.
I placed my glass down and eat a cookie to hide the smell of alcohol before heading to the living room to meet Logan.
My Dad’s prediction was right.
Logan’s facial expressions were hard, his eyes were blank and icy cold as he waited for me. His face gave no expressions when I walked into the living room.
“Hey, Logan.” I pretended myself to look sad and approached him.
“Raelynn, I want truth from you and do not dare to make stories. If you have ever felt something real for me then you must tell me the truth.” He broke the heavy silence in a deadpanned tone.
I blinked my eyes in confusion but I knew his reference.
“I still love you so much, Logan. Tell me. What do you want to talk about?” I asked him.
“Did you plan my daughter’s kidnapping? I know it’s possible even if you weren’t in the city. Tessa lett me along with the kids and I want my family back at any cost.
“Come on, Logan. I am also depressed because she took my son with her I can easily press charges against her and the police

will hunt her down even from the deepest hell.” I said as my anger resurfaced.

“Mind your words, Raelynn. Speak ill about my wife again and you’ll face serious consequences.” He pointed his finger at me.
I gulped seeing the menace in his eyes. He felt protective of her which only meant one thing.
He was in love with Tessa. I couldn’t be wrong.
“Logan, I feel bad for you. I really do but I had no idea that you and Tessa welcomed a child together. You kept it a top secret. Please, stop blaming me for everything that happens to you. I am not a monster who would hurt a baby.” I pretended to look hurt.
But his expressions didn’t change.
“Why I find it hard to believe what you say, Raelynn? No one else except you and your parents have grudges against Tessa. If you won’t tell me the truth, I guess I must use other measures to dig the truth out of your family.”
His words were chilling and, in that moment, I had realized that I had lost him.
“Logan, I love you but it doesn’t mean I will tolerate anything you say about me and my character. Do you really think I would hurt a baby just because I dislike her mother?” I threw my hands in the air.
“People do more crazy things if they want something.” He looked dead into my eyes.
“Logan, what do you want from me? Let me ask this straight and for the last time.” I closed my eyes and exhaled deeply, “Do you still love me?”
There was a moment of silence before he broke it with his cruel words.
“No, I don’t love you and I want us to end whatever we had between us. I have realized it very late but the woman I fell in love at first sight wasn’t you but Tessa.”
There was no hesitation in his tone.
“I know everything so save your lies and tell me whether it was you or your parents who dared to hurt my child.” His tone was demanding.
For the first time, I felt scared of him because I had never seen his dangerous side.
“Logan, I don’t…I..don’t know what do you want me to confess.” I stuttered because it was getting difficult for me to stay confident and lie smoothly.
“Logan, Raelynn, what’s going on in here?” My father entered the room. My mother was right behind him.
An idea popped in my mind. It could be my chance to save myself. My truth was out in front of Logan but the table could still be turned.
“Logan, I am saying the truth that I didn’t hurt your daughter but I can’t say same about my father. He wants revenge from you for pulling out your financial aids from his business. He could plan the kidnapping. He has the connections with bad people. “I put all the blame on my father.
