Goodbye, Mr. Ex-Husband, I Won't Come Back novel Chapter 165

Logan

“Logan, please, let me meet Tessa and my grandchildren. Please, forgive me. I have regretted enough.” My father’s voice was full of remorse and pleadings.

“Dad, I have forgiven you a long time ago. Although, you were wrong when you gave Tessa your permission to leave me but I understand why you had to take such harsh step.” I spoke and he snapped his head up.

Old age was dawning on him. I

“Logan, I am sorry.” He said in a low tone.

“You can meet them whenever you wish.” I said and his eyes lit up.

“Really?”

“Yes, the kids will be happy to see you.” I said with a small smile.

“I can’t wait to be there. When you showed me their pictures for the first time, I was counting days to meet them personally.” He said excitedly.

“It’s okay, Dad. You can visit us whenever you want.” I said.

“Logan, we need to talk.”

My mother’s cold voice ended the smooth conversation I was having with my father. Her heels clicked on the tiles. Our heads turned in her direction. Her face was stoic. It had been two days since Tessa and kids arrived.

My mother tried calling me and even came to my house but I met her outside. I knew her intentions and I was well aware that she’d never stop hating Tessa.

“Mom, if it’s about Tessa and you are about to say mean things against her then I don’t think there’s anything between us to talk.” I said calmly.

Her nose flared and eyes turned dark.

“It is about your wife and I think you should see this if you are out of your love bubble, son.” She said in a sarcastic tone and showed me a news article on her phone.

It made me freeze because the headlines were not only derogatory but the picture attached with it was also something I didn’t expect.

“Don’t say that it’s nothing. Your wh*re wife is back and the first thing she did was to meet her lover in a secret place. What will you say now to defend her?” She spatted venom against Tessa.

“Mom, watch your words. Do not use such words against my wife or I don’t think we can talk ever again.” I warned her.

“Really? Logan, after seeing your wife’s true colours with your own eyes, you still think I am wrong about her?” She threw her hands in the air, “Accept it, Logan. She came back to be with her lover not you. She has ruined your life.”

“Mom, if someone has ruined my happiness and tried to break my family, it’s you.” I pointed my finger at her and her eyes widened.

“Logan!”

She was fuming in anger.

“Mom, isn’t it true that you have asked your friends to find a suitable bride for me when I am already married?” I asked her.

Her face turned pale but she still had no remorse.

“I trust her, Dad. I know this photo is misused to tarnish her image. I have to talk to her. I am sure she must have seen this rubbish against her. I won’t spare the bastard who published this bullshit.” I said with clenched jaws.

“Logan, your support is your biggest strength.” Dad said and I drove back to home.

I couldn’t stop but keep staring at the photo. It had been only two days but same problems surrounded us like old phantoms.

Tessa told me that she had plans to meet her friends but she didn’t mention Adrian. It wasn’t like I’d object if she meets him.

My phone rang and Tesa's number flashed on the screen.

"Hello, love." I answered the call in a normal tone because I didn't want her to sense my mood.

"Logan, have you...have you...seen the news article?" Her voice was shaking.

"Yes, but you don't need to worry. I will find those bastards and make their life miserable for doing this." I promised her.

I could only hear her muffles on the other side.

"I am coming home. Please, don't answer any call from unknown numbers."

I ended the call and dialled my PR manager's number.

"Remove the article about my wife from internet and find the ip address of the computer from which this news was released. Do it ASAP!"
