PART–056
Logan
I felt like a weight had been lifted from my heart when I expressed what I had been feeling for a long time.
I might still be in love with Raelynn but I couldn’t deny that I developed feelings for Tessa as well. It couldn’t be deciphered.
This was my biggest problem because I had to choose one.
Either Raelynn who had waited for me patiently, the woman who made me familiar with the world ‘love‘.
Or it’s Tessa, my arranged wife who silently left a permanent imprint on my life. Her actions spoke louder than her words. A woman who devoted herself without expecting anything from me in return.
A woman whom I trust with my son blindly because no one could love Lucas like she did.
I tilted my head and stared at the innocent beauty who was sleeping peacefully beside me. A smile involuntarily spread on my lips because Felix’s advice finally made sense to me.
He was right. I couldn’t live happy if I had to imagine a life without Tessa.
Her face twitched when her hair strands fell on her face. I carefully brushed them off her face so she could sleep comfortably but, in the process my fingers came in contact with her skin and her eyelids lifted.
A frown settled on her cute face when she realized that she was sleeping in my room.
“Good morning. I guess I disturbed your sleep.” I wished her.
“Good morning.” She said in a low, groggy voice and stretched her arms.
“It’s still six. You can sleep for some more time if you want.” I suggested because I wanted her close to me.
But she shook her head, “I had enough sleep and this is the usual time when I wake up.” She said and slipped out of the bed.
“Would you come back to help me?” I asked when she reached at the door.
She tilted her head and only responded with a small nod of her head.
One step at a time, Logan.
I reminded myself.
She came back to help me in taking a bath. I couldn’t take my eyes off her flushed face when

she avoided to look at me while she helped me to clean myself and also helped me to put on fresh clothes.
I could stay home for another week if she was the one who’d nurse me.
“Dad, can I ask you something?”
Lucas‘ serious voice broke my trance and I looked at my son who sat across me on the dining table as we gathered to have our first meal.
“Yes, Luke. You can ask me anything.” I encouraged him with a warm smile because I felt ashamed that he had to witness something he shouldn’t have.
“I want you to ban your friend to come to our house. I don’t like her.” Lucas said in a serious tone.
Suddenly, there was a tensed silence lingering in the air. Tessa looked between us.
“Lucas, I am sorry what you saw yesterday but I can tell you that she was only helping me. That’s it.” I tried to make him see the other side of the coin but he shook his head vigorously.
“I don’t like her whenever she tries to come close to you like she’s your girlfriend.” Lucas said and it was something I didn’t expect my son to say.
“Lucas, I think you shouldn’t be using this kind of language with your Dad. He’s saying that it was just a misunderstanding then you should trust him.” Tessa decided to handle the situation.
His attention shifted to his mother.
“But Mom Ms. Cowper’s behaviour is totally unacceptable. She tries to touch Dad every time she talks to him and Dad doesn’t stop her.” Lucas rebelled.
I was left in shame. I should have seen this day coming when my patient and understanding son would question my stand and my character at a very young age.
“Lucas, don’t do this. Your Dad is a good person. Please, don’t be angry with him.” Tessa said softly to our son.
“No, Tessa. Let him say what he feels. I don’t want him to have misleading thoughts about me.” I interrupted her because this time I had to face his confrontation.
“We’ll talk after breakfast, son. I will answer all your questions, I promise.” I said to him.
He didn’t respond and quietly ate his breakfast. Since, it was his day off from school. It gave us an opportunity to spend the day together and dissolve the differences between us.
“Lucas, shall we talk now?” I held his tiny hand and asked him.
I didn’t realize that I could feel this much nervous in my entire life.
