PART–081
Tessa
Time seemed to have wings as it flew fast and Lena turned three weeks old.
My stiches were removed and I could move much easily than before, though my treatment would take long. Perhaps for six months the doctors would monitor my internal health but my uterus was recovering. There was nothing to worry about.
Lena was growing into a beautiful baby. She was active and loud unlike Lucas who was a quiet baby.
Maybe because of all the people around her who were pampering her like a princess. Lucas spent almost every day at the apartment to stay close to Lena. Their bond was deeper than we could imagine. He acted more mature, threw less tantrums because he considered himself a responsible big brother.
Logan also visited us daily to meet his daughter but brought home cooked meals every other day. I couldn’t reject him because Kelly was an amazing cook whose food I couldn’t resist.
But at the moment, I was alone with Lena. My maid had gone to market to buy some grocery items.
The doorbell rang, I wasn’t expecting any visitor at that time. It couldn’t be Logan’s mother because he had strictly prohibited her from visiting me.
However, I went to open the door because only identified people could enter in the building.
“I hope I am not intruding in your private time.”
Adrian smiled who was standing at the doorstep holding a bag.
“No, I was actually getting bored. Please, come inside.” I said and welcomed him inside.
He walked into the living.
“Here, I bought some fresh fruits for you in my way.” He handed me the bag.
“There was no need for buying it but thank you.” I always felt hesitated because I felt like I was relying on them.
“Tessa, I don’t want you to say it again. You would have done the same for me.” He said.
“I am sorry, do whatever you want.” I raised my hand in surrender motion.
“I’ll go and wash my hands before meeting the princess.” He said and went towards the bathroom.
Initially, I felt awkward but soon, it faded because he was only treating me like a friend and never did something that could make me feel awkward or have a bad impression of him.
“She’s becoming naughtier day by day.” He commented when she tried to snatch the soft toy that Adrian brought close to her.

“She’ll be a little troublemaker when she grows up.” commented with a smile.
“She brings smiles on our faces.” He stroked her hairs.
There was a comfortable silence between us.
“Adrian, I would like to join the office after one week. I work from home but now I miss the workplace and working actively with the others. Besides, I get bored sitting at home. I want to be productive.” expressed my wish.
He was my boss and the last decision would be taken by him.
“Tessa, are you sure that it’s a good idea? I mean I am not against your wish of working in the office but Lena is very small and your health. You gave birth through surgery and your body needs time and care to recover.” He also expressed his concern.
1 shook my head.
“I am not saying that I’d work for full hours but a few would help me to gain my confidence. I feel home sick and it’s taking toll on my mental health.” I confessed.
“Talk to your doctor first. If she allows you then you can join any time. I’ll arrange a separate nursery for Lena so she’d not feel stressed.” He agreed and a smile stretched on my lips.
“Thanks a lot, Adrian. I have been trying to strike this conversation for a long time.” I felt excited and less
burdened.
“Alright, if you are done celebrating then I’ll be going now. I came here in my lunch time.” He said preparing to leave.
“Who told you to come running here in your lunch time?” I scolded him.
“I was missing Lena and the place is near my office so I came.” He grinned sheepishly.
“Now go.” I pushed him towards the door but we stopped when the doorbell rang again.
“I think it’s the maid.” I said and went to open the door but when I saw the person, I froze.
It was Logan who stood there with a horrified expression and soon in transformed into a blank expression.
“What the hell are you doing here?”
Logan’s voice was full of fury and he looked ready to kill Adrian.
