Chapter 178 Like Father, Like Son
Eloise’s eyes sparkled as she looped her finger around his and gave it a teasing tug. “This one’s perfect.”
‘It’s so much easier when you’ve got someone in your corner,’ she thought.
Grayson gave her nose a couple of playful taps.
“Come on, let’s go check on Noah,” he said.
“Oh! I totally forgot about Noah!” Eloise exclaimed.
When Eloise arrived, Noah had just made it all the way to the top.
“Wow! You’re amazing, baby!” Eloise cheered.
“Grayson, who do you think Noah takes after? How is he so good at everything? He’s just incredible!” Eloise said excitedly.
This incredible kid was all hers.
Eloise couldn’t help but smile proudly.
Grayson grinned. “Of course, he takes after me.”
‘If this isn’t my kid, whose is it?’ Grayson thought smugly to himself.
Eloise turned to look at him.
As much as she didn’t want to admit it, Noah really did take after Grayson.
Noah climbed down the rope.
The coach called out, “Great job! Take a quick break, and then we’ll try something even tougher.”
Noah turned and spotted Eloise and Grayson, then came running over.
“Mom! Dad!” he shouted, his voice full of excitement.
Noah was visibly excited, his cheeks flushed red.
Eloise pulled out a tissue and gently wiped the sweat from his forehead, then handed him a bottle of milk.
“You’re amazing, baby!” Eloise said with a big smile.
Noah gave a humble little grin, glancing at Grayson.
Grayson laughed and playfully rubbed his cheek. “Not bad at all.”
Noah’s smile curled even wider at the compliment.
“Dad, can you take me here again sometime?” Noah asked, his eyes full of hope.
“Yeah,” Colton replied.
After finishing his milk, Noah turned and ran off to find the coach, eager to take on the next challenge.
“I’ll take care of it myself,” Juliette said.
Juliette kept her head down, not wanting Colton to see the mark from where she’d been hit. She couldn’t bring herself to meet his eyes.
Colton gently brushed her hand aside. “Don’t move.”
“Go have fun. I can handle the ice myself,” Juliette insisted.
“Are you kidding? My girlfriend just got hit. How could I possibly be in the mood to play?” Colton shot back.
Juliette put on a brave face, flashing him a casual smile. “Come on, babe, it’s nothing. Go enjoy yourself. Don’t let this mess up your mood.”

Chapter 178 Like Father, Like Son
Colton glanced over at Juliette, and she looked right back at him.
Juliette stepped forward and took Colton’s hand.
“It’s busted. Let’s go to the hospital and get it checked out,” she said.
Colton yanked his hand back and walked off without saying a word.
Juliette’s hand was left hanging in the air.
Eloise frowned and was just about to call out to Colton when Juliette grabbed her arm.
“Forget it. He just needs to cool off,” Juliette said.
“Hey Juliette, what happened? You two seemed fine just now,” Eloise asked.
Juliette forced a smile. “There’s always been stuff between us we never sorted out.”
Eloise sighed. “Let’s just go inside.”
She was about to give Juliette a ride home, but Juliette pulled out her car keys. “I’ll drive myself.”
She’d come in Colton’s car. He tossed the keys into her bag and took off in a cab.
Juliette drove back to the apartment.
As soon as she walked in, Colton came out of the bathroom, wrapped in a robe, his hair still dripping wet.
He didn’t even look at her, just walked straight into the study without a word.
Juliette followed him and stood in the doorway. “What did Dustin say to you?”
Colton looked up at her. “He said you two lived together for five years, and that you still love him.”
Juliette burst out, her voice shaking with emotion, “That’s a load of crap! Colton, I don’t have any feelings for him anymore. Believe me.”
But when it came to those five years they lived together, there was no way to talk her way out of that. It had really happened.
“So, do you love me?” Colton asked, staring right at her.
Colton kept his gaze fixed on her.
Juliette was silent for a couple of seconds, then asked, “What about you? Do you love me?”
Colton let out a frustrated laugh.
“I asked first,” he said.
“Ladies first,” Colton said.
Colton let out a cold laugh.
He already felt pathetic enough. If he confessed he loved her, he’d just look like a dog wagging its tail, begging for affection.
So he stayed silent.
Juliette smiled sadly and turned to head back to her room.
She packed up her things into a suitcase and rolled it over to the door.
She walked into the study, saw Colton puffing away, and went over to crack open the window.
