Chapter 180 I Knew He Was Good
Two days later, the police posted an official statement online about an incident.
[After receiving a report, we worked together with the Oniohull police to investigate an incident from three years ago. We successfully apprehended one of the suspects, a man surnamed Ethan Chase, who confessed to the crime.]
[Here’s what Ethan revealed: Three years ago, Camille approached him and paid him ten grand to ambush Grayson from behind while he was inspecting a construction site, knocking him out cold. Camille then called an ambulance, and when Grayson woke up, she claimed she was the one who saved him.]
[To show his gratitude, Grayson agreed to Camille’s request to send her abroad for further studies, covering all her expenses while she was overseas.]
[After Camille came back and couldn’t land a job, Grayson got her a spot at his own company. But Camille had bigger plans. She wanted to marry Grayson. To make that happen, she actually tried to stab Grayson’s partner. When the police caught her, they found out she was mentally ill. Now, Camille’s getting treatment at a psychiatric facility in Ekloland.]
VirtuFusion Group’s official social media account reposted the police statement.
Once the truth came out, netizens started dragging Payne and Vivian online.
Payne and Vivian had no clue what was going on. Lately, their videos had gone viral, and their account was blowing up with new followers. Some brands even reached out, offering them money to promote their products.
They never realized you could actually make money just by posting videos.
So they started a livestream, only to find a flood of people in the chat roasting them.
Vivian asked, “Honey, why are they all hating on us?”
Payne replied, “Maybe it’s Grayson’s people.”
Vivian said, “Wait, that can’t be right. Some of these folks were actually giving us tips before. Oh, honey, check this out. They’re calling us old fossils and saying we’re downright vicious.”
Payne lost it and started trading insults with the chat right there on the livestream.
Now, Payne and Vivian had shown their true colors to everyone online.
[Fam, who gets it? I feel like I just ate shit. This is so messed up.]
[+1.]
[I knew it! That handsome guy always seemed like a good dude. No way he’d do something shady. Turns out he got played.]
]
[Look at Camille’s parents. No wonder Camille turned out like this. She’s got real mental issues.]
[I work at VirtuFusion Group, and one time I saw Camille totally lose it and snap a tree right outside our office.
[Was it a big tree or a small one?]
The user posted a photo, and yep, it was Camille in the pic.
[Back then, she was still our boss’s so-called savior, throwing her weight around the company. I didn’t dare share the photo.]
[I work at VirtuFusion Group too, and I witnessed Camille kill a kitten right in front of me.]
[No way! Seriously? Got any pics?]
The user actually posted a photo, and it was the same lady who ripped out that tree.
[Is this woman nuts or what? What did them

Chapter 1980 I Knew He Was Good
[Poor little kitten!]
[Seriously, someone this nasty should never be released! Just keep her locked up in that psych hospital for life!
“Mom, something’s burning!” Noah shouted as he rushed into the kitchen.
Noah burst into the kitchen.
“Oh! My!” Eloise cried.
She hurriedly shoved her phone into her pocket and turned off the stove.
When she lifted the lid, a strong burnt smell wafted out.
“Mom, what do we do now?” Noah asked.
Eloise sighed. “This dish is a total loss, but it’s fine. There’s still plenty in the fridge. How about I make your favorite? Coke chicken wings?”
“Yay! Thanks, Mom!” Noah cheered.
Eloise smiled and gave his cheek a gentle pinch. “Go play outside.”
Eloise looked at the pot of burnt meat and felt terrible.
Her heart just sank.
She kicked herself for getting so wrapped up in scrolling online that she totally forgot about the food simmering on the stove.
She tossed out the ruined meat, grabbed some chicken wings, and put them in water to soak.
Payne was hurling all kinds of foul language on his livestream, and someone reported him. The stream got shut down.
Payne was livid. He tried to fire up another livestream to keep trading insults with the viewers, but then realized their account had been banned.
It wasn’t Grayson who got them banned. The platform flagged their content as too dangerous and pulled the plug.
Payne tried logging into Vivian’s account, only to find hers was banned, too.
Vivian said, “Honey, what should we do? We had so many followers, and I heard you can make real money from this. Is there any way to get our account back?”
Payne snapped, “This has to be Grayson’s fault! He won’t give us a penny, and now he’s cut off our cash flow. That’s just evil!”
Vivian said, “I saw some people online saying our daughter never actually saved Grayson. That troublemaker figured out who he was early on, wanted to get ahead, so she hired someone to knock him out and then pretended she was the hero.”
Payne scoffed, “Just because he says she didn’t save him doesn’t mean it’s true. He’s just trying to make himself look good.”
Vivian said, “People online are saying the cops already caught the guy who attacked Grayson, and he turned Camille in, saying she paid him ten grand.”
“I don’t believe a word of it. Grayson must’ve paid off the cops,” Payne grumbled.
Vivian sighed. “Now we’ve got nothing at all.”
Payne said, “Come on, let’s go find that brat. She always comes up with something.”
Payne and Vivian went to the psych hospital to visit Camille. She had just woken up after an electroshock therapy session.
She was sobbing, “Let me out! I don’t want to be here! Please, someone, help me get out…”

Vivian started heading toward the doctor.
Payne stopped her. “What are you doing?”
Vivian said, “I’m going to ask the doctor to let Camille out.”
Payne shook his head. “Did you see the state she’s in? It’s scary. What if she loses it and comes after us?”
Vivian hesitated, “But…”
Payne cut her off, “Enough with the buts. Remember Mrs. Pearce from our village?”
Vivian nodded.
Payne went on, “She was mentally ill. One day, she grabbed a knife and killed her husband. Poor guy. If they’d sent her to the hospital sooner, maybe he wouldn’t have died so tragically.”
“If that brat gets out and comes at us with a knife, could you deal with that?” he added.
Vivian shook her head.
