“Understood, Mr. Myers,” Donald replied simply before turning to carry out the instructions.

Seeing Arthur’s detached demeanor, Madilyn understood he was dismissing her–he had already condemned her as the killer.

“Arthur, is this how you repay me? I raised you! For what? For you, I defied Charles and schemed to transfer the controlling stake of Myers Group into your name. And this is the thanks I get? You dare to judge me?” Madilyn shrieked, her fury directed entirely at him. “I am your mother! Would I ever harm you? You are my only hope! Everything I did was for you!

“Arthur, if not for me, those shares would have gone to Chloe. She wouldn’t have lifted a finger, yet she would have walked away with Charles‘ legacy and become the majority shareholder. Could you

have stomached that?

“Arthur, I did it all for you. Anyone else can point fingers, but not you!” Madilyn roared. “You have no right to question me! It was all for your future!”

“Madilyn! Stop trying to manipulate Arthur with guilt. Being your son is the greatest tragedy of his life,” Chloe interjected, her voice cutting cleanly through Madilyn’s tirade.

Madilyn stopped short and turned a venomous glare on Chloe, letting out a cold, harsh laugh. “Chloe, you little viper, you’re something else, aren’t you? You have a finger in every pie. Monique was foolish enough to walk into your trap, and now you’ve snared me too. Well played. But I won’t confess to a thing. You can have me arrested, but I won’t say a word.”

A faint, knowing smile touched Chloe’s lips as she met Madilyn’s defiant stare. “Whether you speak is irrelevant now. Someone else will. Madilyn, remember what I told you earlier? I said today would be the day you’d come to regret everything.”

“What are you implying?” Madilyn froze, staring blankly at Chloe. She frowned, struggling to decipher the threat.

“Arthur, do you truly believe your mother, Madilyn, acted solely in your interest?” Chloe’s smile widened slightly. “Transferring the shares to you was merely a tactic to appease the family elders and the board. Her true objective was to seize control of Charles‘ real estate portfolio.”

Arthur’s gaze shifted back to Chloe.

“Let go of me! You’re hurting my arm!
