Vincent’s expression flickered at Chloe’s mocking tone-just for a second-but the woman beside him looked genuinely startled. At Chloe’s words, she turned to Vincent with obvious surprise.
That one line-“you loved me that much”-said everything.
Chloe caught the woman’s reaction immediately. She stared at her coldly. “You actually think this looks good? Being turned into me?”
The woman met Chloe’s eyes and felt a jolt run through her. She hadn’t expected Chloe to respond like this. It threw her off.
“Did
your
you forget who you are?” Chloe stepped closer, slow and deliberate. “You think changing face makes you me? If that was all it took, I wouldn’t be standing here right now.”
The woman watched her approach and instinctively stepped back. She was rattled, wanting to look away, to escape that gaze. But the moment she thought about retreating, Vincent’s cold voice cut through.
“Look her in the eyes. If you’re this weak, you’ll never pull this off. You’ll never be her.”
His voice was ice. The woman straightened immediately, as if someone had flipped a switch.
She looked at Chloe again, and this time something had changed in her expression. Confidence flickered there. Fearlessness. Just like Chloe.
“Heh.” A small smile curved her lips. “From now on, I’m Chloe. And you? You’re nobody.”
Chloe’s eyes went dark. She stared at the woman who was even copying her mannerisms now, and the cold in her gaze deepened.
This woman was trying so hard to imitate her, but something in her bones couldn’t be faked. And that something felt… familiar.
That look in her eyes. That provocative tilt. Too familiar.
Chloe studied her for a long moment, something clicking into place. Finally, she turned to
Vincent.
“You did this.” It wasn’t a question. Her voice was flat, accusing. “I thought she’d be dead by now. Gone to meet her maker.”
Vincent’s eyebrows lifted slightly. “Nothing gets past you, does it?”

Chapter 524 Jennifers New Role

The woman laughed out loud at that. She looked at Chloe, her voice shifting. “You’re sharp, Chloe. Really sharp. Figured it out that fast.”
Her voice had changed completely. No longer mimicking Chloe’s. It was Jennifer’s.
The woman was Jennifer. Under Vincent’s orders, a medical team had reshaped her face in record time-sculpting it into Chloe’s exact likeness. If she wanted to take everything from Chloe, she had to become Chloe first.
Now, she looked exactly like her. Apart from some healing scars that would fade in another week or so, she was a perfect copy. Unless someone ran medical tests, no one would ever know the difference.
Since Chloe had already figured it out, there was no point pretending anymore.
From now on, she was Chloe. No one would know otherwise.
Jennifer smiled, smug and satisfied. This was the start of her new life. Everything would be hers
now.
What Arthur had done to her before? She didn’t care anymore. She had someone better waiting.
Her eyes dropped to the marks on Chloe’s neck-those vivid, unmistakable bruises. Her smile widened.
“I was trying to figure out how to get close to him. Win him over. And you just handed it to me.” She laughed softly. “Now it’s natural. I’ll step right into your life, marry that man, take everything that’s yours. And you? You’ll just watch. There’s nothing you can do.”
Chloe’s expression didn’t change. She looked at Jennifer like she was nothing, then turned to Vincent with a calm smile. “You made a fake version of me and you’re going to send her to him! You really think he’ll buy it? That’s almost cute.”
“You’re right.” Vincent stood slowly, closing the distance between them. He reached out, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear with exaggerated gentleness, exposing the marks on her neck. They were impossible to miss. God only knew what the rest of her looked like under that dress.
His expression turned cold in an instant. His hand shot out, grabbing a fistful of her hair, yanking her head back.
“I pulled her out of hell and gave her a new life. She has one job-go to that man and take your place.” His voice dropped, dangerous and low. “All she has to do is sleep with him. Then the job’s done.”
