"This is all on you. If it weren't for you, we wouldn't be in this mess," the man spat out, before swinging his fist hard into the face of the guy with the blackened teeth.
The black-toothed man was still stunned when the punch connected, sending him flying backward. He landed face-first in the dirt with a heavy thud.
"You—you... after all we've been through, you hit me? You got a death wish or something?" he roared, then grunted in pain, coughing up a mouthful of blood.
"Hit you? If I'd known you were this worthless, I would've taken care of you myself a long time ago," the first man shot back, stepping forward and delivering another furious kick.
Carolyn watched it all unfold, her eyes growing colder by the second.
"Make sure he remembers this lesson. Maybe in his next life, he'll think twice before screwing people over," she said icily, not even glancing toward the black-toothed man.
Hearing her words, the man who had thrown the punch looked confusedly toward his other companion—only to see him pull out a handgun, the barrel now aimed directly at him.
"What the hell are you doing?"
"Ah—!"
Before he could finish, the other man fired. The bullet struck, and a piercing shriek tore from his throat—higher and shriller than a pig at slaughter.
His face contorted in agony. In horror, he looked down at where he'd been shot: right between the legs. His pants were already soaked with blood. His life as a man was over, just like that.
"You bastards—!"
The shooter stepped forward and kicked him hard again. "This is your fault, you piece of trash. You slept around, caught that filthy disease, and passed it on to me!"
Hearing that, the black-toothed man froze. His eyes darted toward Carolyn, and as the reality of the situation sank in, he let out a strained, awkward laugh.
"I... I didn't know, man," he stammered, forcing a smile. "They said it wasn't contagious like that. It's no big deal—it's not gonna kill you. Seriously, look at me! I've had it for a while and I'm still standing, right?"
Carolyn stared at his disgusting expression, and the more she thought about it, the clearer it became: this was how her bright future had been destroyed.
These men were all outlaws—ruthless and capable. To get them on her side, she'd lowered herself, acted submissive, played the obedient dog.
And they hadn't gone easy on her. They took their pleasure in dominating her, body and soul.
She'd thought it was a simple trade: her body for their skills. Mutual benefit. But how could she have known this lowlife would pick up a disease so vicious—highly contagious, with a fatality rate through the roof?
Now, not just the other two, but she herself was infected.
Her days were numbered.
Good.
Let them all go to hell together.
