Just as I was about to take Reginald inside, Calvin’s voice sounded. “Georgia, didn’t you skip dinner too?”
Georgia was stunned for a moment, then quickly responded. “Yes, we haven’t eaten either. Why don’t we all eat together?”
This was simply baffling.
I cursed inwardly, but one was my own sister, and the other was my neighbor.
Unable to find a suitable reason to refuse them, I could only reluctantly nod my head.
Reginald and I exchanged a helpless glance, then opened the door to let this group of unexpected guests into the house.
Just as I was about to head to the kitchen, Reginald stepped forward and stopped me, saying, “Let me cook. You go and rest.”
I looked at him in surprise and asked skeptically, “Are you sure? I remember you never even set foot in the kitchen before.”
Reginald looked smug. “Don’t underestimate me. I lived abroad alone for four whole years. If I hadn’t honed my cooking skills, I probably would have starved to death by now.”
The lack of good food for students living overseas has long been a running joke online, so even though I’ve never been abroad, I know a thing or two about it.
I couldn’t help but smile. “Then I’ll look forward to your cooking.”
As soon as I finished speaking, Calvin also walked in and put on an apron, looking like he was ready to cook as well
Reginald frowned. “Calvin, why are you here too?”
The latter replied calmly, “I’m here to cook.”
Hearing this, Reginald didn’t say anything more, but silently started handling the ingredients in
his hands.
Naturally, Calvin was not to be outdone, and began chopping vegetables with a serious

I stood at the kitchen door, completely confused, just about to ask if there was anything I could help with.
As soon as I opened my mouth, “Do you need me to…”
Before I could finish, the two of them interrupted in unison, “No need!”
This strange tacit understanding–they didn’t even turn their heads.
Looking at the two of them, I felt like we might be having a full banquet tonight.
Just as I was about to leave the kitchen for the living room, I turned around and met Georgia’s resentful gaze.
Startled, I patted my chest lightly, then walked around her to the living room and sat down on the sofa.
After a whole day like this, I was truly exhausted.
And the main culprit behind all my troubles followed me out and sat down beside me on the sofa.
I closed my eyes, trying to signal that I didn’t want to talk to her.
But whether Georgia didn’t get it or was just pretending not to, I couldn’t tell.
She insisted on talking to me, her voice full of grievance: “Are you feeling proud of yourself now?”
I pursed my lips speechlessly, pretending not to hear, not planning to respond to her provocation.
But seeing that I didn’t react, Georgia still wouldn’t let it go.
She even reached out and shook my shoulder. “Come on, admit it, you’re feeling really smug right now, aren’t you?”
I could only open my eyes helplessly and look at her, asking, “What am I supposed to be proud
of?”
Georgia snorted. “Now both of them like you, and they’re fighting over you.”
“Stop pretending. I know you’re secretly thrilled inside.”

I cried out in protest, “Are you crazy? Is there really nothing else in your head besides this stuff?”
“If you have so much free time, why don’t you go find a job?”
Still not satisfied, I continued, “I think you’re just bored.”
Georgia was instantly infuriated by my words and rushed at me, raising her hand as if to slap me.
