"I'm not hiding her. She might have other connections in the city."
Arthur fell silent for a few seconds before letting out a heavy sigh. "I know your grandmother's death destroyed you. Quinn tells me you haven't stepped foot in the office."
"I'm going today."
"Nelson, the burden on your shoulders is immense. You can't just hand this empire over to someone else."
It was a blatant threat. Arthur was clearly losing his patience.
A flicker of irritation crossed Nelson's face before Arthur delivered the final blow. "I spoke with the doctors today. Kieran will wake up in three months, at the latest."
Nelson had only taken the reins of the family because of an emergency crisis. None of the Saint family had expected him to execute the role with such terrifying brilliance.
The heir's seat was originally meant for Kieran. Nelson had never intended to occupy it permanently.
After hanging up, Nelson rubbed his burning eyes again and finally left the estate.
When he returned to his own penthouse, Macy had already been dragged there by his men.
"Tell me everything. Who actually sent Juniper to Blackwood Institute? My mother, or Beatrice Lane?"
Macy had noticed she was being followed recently, but assumed she was just being paranoid until she was violently abducted again.
She was still utterly convinced Juniper was dead, so she spoke with reckless venom. "I already told you, but your arrogant ass refused to listen! Your psycho mother drove down to Oakley and made the threats herself! You know exactly what kind of parasitic trash the Lane family is—they folded instantly."
Nelson remained dead silent, his freezing gaze locked onto Macy.
Macy tilted her chin up defiantly, letting out a bitter scoff. "Oh, and I heard your mother also paid a little visit to Capital University to get Juniper expelled. She didn't even get her degree. Do you have any idea how much blood, sweat, and tears Juniper poured into getting into that school?! Only to get subjected to a massive cyberbullying campaign! The entire campus was calling her a filthy whore! I didn't even go to Capital University, and I still heard about it."
"Wasn't she warned with expulsion because she missed too many classes taking care of your mother?"
"Spit! Who the hell told you that?! Juniper worked so hard. Even when she was running herself ragged caring for my mom, her studies were always her absolute priority! She studied like a maniac. Her professors worshipped her! I don't know their names, but her grades were immaculate! Even without her degree, she landed a job at a high-end auction house—doesn't that prove how brilliant she is?! You can drag her for anything else, but when it came to her future, she was the most disciplined, relentless person I've ever known."
