He Gave Me Hearing, Then Taught Me What Silence Really Means novel Chapter 421

Nelson Saint clutched his chest and slowly sat down, a sharp ache spreading from his heart until a bone-chilling coldness consumed his entire body.

Quinn Fletcher hurriedly took out the medication and handed him a bottle of water. "Boss, you need to take your pills."

Nelson ignored the medicine, silently scrolling through the forum posts.

His jaw tightened, his fingers swiping rapidly as if trying to digest the sheer volume of malice. But this hatred was too much for Juniper Lane to bear back then. Who had doxxed her personal information, and who had relentlessly spread the rumor that she was a homewrecker?

His lips pressed into a thin line, his fingertips trembling slightly. He had indeed posted that social media update back then. It was his last shred of pride acting up because he couldn't accept being treated as nothing more than a stand-in for Cillian Xavier. Why should he?

Especially since Juniper had admitted it herself. If she hadn't said it out loud, he could have pretended not to know, but he had unfortunately overheard her.

Nelson had always been fiercely arrogant. Combined with his youth, he had made that post visible only to Juniper before fleeing the country in a pathetic state. Of course, he hated her at the time. Even though they hadn't known each other as long as she knew Cillian, he believed he had never done anything to hurt her since they first met. What right did she have to use him as a replacement—a substitute for a crippled man? Nelson's pride simply couldn't handle the humiliation.

That post had been set to be seen by Juniper alone. She wouldn't have screenshotted it and sent it everywhere herself. There was only one explanation: someone had tampered with Nelson's phone, taken a screenshot, and leaked it. That image had served as supposed proof of the rumors, escalating the cyberbullying into a massive, devastating campaign.

Nelson gripped his phone tightly, struggling to process the turbulent emotions boiling inside him.

Back then, he had wanted nothing more than to wring Juniper's neck. He thought she had terrible taste and that she needed to get her eyes checked. Between him and Cillian, even a fool would know who to choose. Yet, he lacked the courage to confront her. Aside from that passive-aggressive post, he had actually managed to control his temper. He did nothing else but run away like a coward.

But if anyone else had dared to play him for a fool and spin him around in circles, he would never have let them off so easily.

So who had used his name to ruthlessly tear Juniper down?
