He Lost Me to His Best Friend novel Chapter 331

Scarlett hated sleeping in unfamiliar beds, and everything about Orchard Villa suffocated her.

She was tossing and turning when she suddenly heard a scream and a loud crash from the master bedroom. If nothing serious had happened, Yardley would never lose his composure like that.

After a brief hesitation, Scarlett got up to check.

Pushing the door open, she found Yardley and Sylvia wrapped in a tight embrace.

Sylvia was wearing a sheer lace nightgown, with Yardley's suit jacket draped over her shoulders. Yardley wore nothing but an unbuttoned black silk robe, the sash completely undone.

The bedding on the master bed—linens Scarlett herself had once bought—was a tangled mess.

Anyone with eyes could see exactly what was going on.

After a moment of shock, Scarlett shot them a glacial glare. A wave of indescribable disgust washed over her.

"Looks like I'm interrupting. Please, carry on."

She turned to leave, but Yardley's cold voice snapped from behind.

"Scarlett, stop right there!"

She paused. Before she could even turn around, he stormed over and grabbed her wrist, his grip painfully tight.

"I never imagined you could be so cold-blooded, so cruel, and so deeply twisted!"

Scarlett froze, looking up at him in utter disbelief.

"What did I do now?"

It made no sense. He was the one caught fooling around with Sylvia in what used to be their marital bedroom.

He was the one who had threatened her into moving back here when all she wanted was a divorce.

Not only had she been robbed of a good night's sleep, but now Yardley was hurling baseless accusations at her out of nowhere.

"What you're doing isn't just incestuous, it's straight-up adultery!"

As she laid into him, Scarlett didn't forget to pull out her phone, snapping photos and recording a video. She had learned to gather evidence anywhere, anytime. She wasn't about to end up in a he-said, she-said situation.

Yardley was already fuming, his chest heaving with uncontrollable anger.

He still had power and influence, and seeing the cousin he had sworn to protect humiliated right under his nose was completely intolerable.

But as Scarlett cursed him out, he suddenly remembered why he had forced her back here in the first place.

Whether for business or personal reasons, he had to win her back first.

If he lost his cool over Sylvia now, all his efforts would be wasted.

Thinking of this, his tone softened just a fraction:
