He Lost Me to His Best Friend novel Chapter 350

"You can be as crazy as you want, Sylvia, but watch your mouth," Julian snarled, his voice a lethal whip. "I've left you a shred of dignity up until now, but that is not an invitation for you to keep testing me!"

Clenching his fists to suppress the urge to do worse, Julian turned his back on her and strode out of the café. The mere thought that he had wasted five years married to this toxic, suffocating woman made his skin crawl.

Humiliated and furious, Sylvia wiped the dripping coffee from her eyes and chased after him. She burst out of the café, looking wildly for Julian, but ended up crashing hard into a man walking past the door.

"I'm so sor—"

Before she could finish her apology, the man looked down at her, his eyes lighting up with disturbing excitement. "Sylvia? Is that you?"

Sylvia looked up and froze. Standing in front of her was a short, chubby man with a buzz cut. His face was greasy, and his cheap suit jacket strained over a protruding stomach.

A jolt of pure terror shot through her veins. "No. You have the wrong person."

She shoved past him and sprinted down the street, desperate to put as much distance between them as possible.

The man rubbed his nose, a sinister, calculating gleam flashing in his eyes. He subtly jerked his head toward two burly men standing nearby, silently ordering them to follow her.

Under the relentless command of Director Gunnar Stetson, Jacqueline's fifteen-year-old assault case was finally blown wide open.

Gordon Wyatt and Julian Croft had taken over the entire event planning. Stepping into the roles of honorary uncles, they worked tirelessly to ensure Dawn had the most spectacular party imaginable.

Everyone understood the unspoken message. Since Scarlett hadn't received an ounce of respect or love from her in-laws, her chosen family was going to overcompensate and give Dawn the world.

Standing in the grand ballroom, surrounded by walls of fresh flowers and glittering lights, Scarlett felt tears of gratitude well up in her eyes.

Just as she was taking it all in, Talia sprinted across the room, grabbing Scarlett's arm in a frantic grip.

"Scarlett! Look at this!" Talia gasped, shoving her phone screen into Scarlett's face, her voice vibrating with shock and anger. "You will never believe who I just caught on camera!"
