Gwen gritted her teeth, her hatred for Scarlett reaching an absolute peak.
Corinne's eyes narrowed, a deeply calculated, sinister look washing over her features.
"If I don't bare my fangs, she's going to mistake me for a weak old woman."
"Do you remember exactly how we all banded together to deal with Jacqueline back in the day?"
A twisted, evil smile crept onto Gwen's face.
"How could I ever forget? The pathetic, half-dead state she was left in... that image is still burned perfectly into my memory."
Corinne scoffed. "Exactly. And this Scarlett... I think she's cut from the exact same cloth. She came from that woman's womb, after all. Tearing her down will be just as easy."
"Which is why I said Yardley must have lost his mind back then," Gwen sneered. "With all the wealthy heiresses in Bay City to choose from, he picked her. It was a complete embarrassment."
Gwen's tone dripped with pure disdain and condescension toward Scarlett.
Hearing that only fueled Corinne's rage. She snapped in absolute fury.
"Don't even mention it! Just thinking about it makes my blood boil! I still have no idea what kind of spell she cast to bewitch Yardley! She's just like her mother—a manipulative seductress! We need to shatter her confidence and crush her completely!"
Sitting in her wheelchair, Sylvia absorbed their back-and-forth exchange, picking up on a great deal of hidden context.
While she didn't know the exact details of what they had done to Scarlett's mother, just listening to their tone made her pulse race with sick excitement.
Taking on Scarlett alone had been exhausting and overwhelming. But now, with her aunt and her mother fully committed to the battle, she wouldn't even have to lift a finger to watch Scarlett be destroyed.
Sylvia secretly rejoiced. She couldn't wait to find out the truth about the past, and she was even more eager to witness Scarlett's tragic downfall.

Inside the private VIP hospital room.
Talia finally opened her eyes. Scarlett immediately grasped her hand, choking back a heavy sob.
"Talia, you're finally awake. Is there anything you want to eat? I... I made your favorite coconut chicken soup. Do you want some?"
By the time Scarlett managed to get the words out, tears were already spilling down her cheeks like shattered pearls.
Scarlett lowered her gaze, her emotions remarkably tranquil.
"There's nothing I won't dare to do. Also, I told him to arrange a second fire to burn Orchard Villa to the ground."
Talia was speechless. "...But that's your marital home with Yardley. You're burning that down too?"
"It should have been burned to ashes a long time ago. It's the only way to make Yardley truly understand that I'm completely done with him."
Scarlett spoke clearly, her expression natural and her emotional state entirely stable. It sounded as though she were discussing the mundane details of the weather.
What Talia didn't know was that while she had been unconscious, Scarlett had clenched her fists repeatedly, releasing and clenching them over and over... until she finally reached this state of deadly calm.
Talia quietly stared at her best friend, unable to find the words to respond.
Though her face was still delicate and her features as beautiful as ever, Talia felt that Scarlett had completely shattered on the inside, broken beyond repair.
That night.
The night sky over Bay City glowed a furious crimson from two towering, devastating blazes.
