He Lost Me to His Best Friend novel Chapter 93

Outside the emergency room in the hospital.

Scarlett paced restlessly, tears streaming down her face, her entire body trembling uncontrollably. She simply couldn't calm down.

She never imagined that Sylvia would actually target her best friend first.

Seeing Talia covered in blood and barely clinging to life, Scarlett hated herself so much she wanted to slap her own face repeatedly.

Sylvia Stetson was absolutely despicable!

Scarlett clenched her fingers tightly, her unblinking gaze locked on the doors of the emergency room.

Finally, the doctor emerged. He pulled down his mask, offering a reassuring smile.

"Ms. Langley, thankfully the patient only suffered superficial injuries and no internal organs were damaged. Her vitals are currently stable, and she just needs a few days of bed rest before she can be discharged."

The massive boulder weighing on Scarlett's chest finally crumbled.

Standing beside her, Stellan also let out a breath of relief. He stepped forward.

"Boss, I've already spoken with the administration. We'll have Ms. Gray moved to a private VIP suite shortly, attended by their top medical staff."

Scarlett nodded. Just as she was about to speak, a grating, sarcastic voice echoed from behind her.

"Well, well, Scarlett, what a coincidence. What are you doing outside the emergency room? Visiting a sick friend?"

Scarlett slowly turned her head. A short distance away, Corinne and Gwen stood gripping the handles of Sylvia's wheelchair, all three of them glaring at her like predators cornering prey.

Scarlett immediately closed the distance and grabbed Sylvia by the collar.

"Sylvia, cut the innocent act! Did you really think I wouldn't know who sent that anonymous text?"

Scarlett had closed in so fast and grabbed her with such aggressive force that Sylvia was nearly hauled right out of her wheelchair.

Corinne and Gwen jumped in shock, both shrieking simultaneously.

"Scarlett, have you lost your mind?"

Corinne raised her hand, instinctively aiming a vicious slap at Scarlett's face.

However, before her hand could even descend, it was caught mid-air by a powerful, unyielding grip.

A second later, the man shoved her back. Losing her balance, Corinne stumbled backward and hit the hard hospital floor with a heavy thud.

"But you better remember this. For every punch your thugs landed on my best friend, for every cut they made, I will return the favor to you tenfold! Just you wait!"

Scarlett took a deep breath, fighting down the overwhelming urge to rip Sylvia to shreds right then and there.

After delivering her vicious warning, she saw the emergency room doors open as Talia was wheeled out.

She and Stellan immediately turned their backs on the women, following the medical staff away from the chaotic scene.

"Arrogant! She is far too arrogant. How did Scarlett... completely change overnight?"

Gwen rubbed her bruised hip, rubbing her eyes in disbelief, her expression turning incredibly sour.

Corinne felt like her lower back was shattered. Her tailbone throbbed with blinding pain, and she let out a bitter scoff.

"I told you! There's no way she'd have the guts to openly challenge us all on her own."

Corinne quickly snapped photos and recorded a video of Scarlett and Stellan walking away, sending everything in a flurry to Yardley.

"So she finally found herself a lover. I'm sending this to Yardley right now so he can dig into this young man's background!"

"Corinne, she is far too out of control. We have to teach her a brutal lesson! We have to make her suffer consequences she'll never forget!"
