He Never Loved Me Until the Day I Finally Left Him novel Chapter 326

Under these suffocating circumstances, Helena's legs finally gave way. She collapsed to the floor at Sebastian's feet, her pride completely shattered as she lowered her head.

"Please, let him stay. I'm the one who did this. It had nothing to do with him," she begged, completely submitting.

Not to save herself, but to save Arthur.

Sebastian had wanted her to beg.

But seeing her sacrifice her dignity for a servant—instead of offering it willingly to him—only twisted the knife of his irritation deeper.

The displeasure radiated off him in waves.

Helena remained slumped on the floor, articulating every word with desperate sincerity.

"I hadn't heard anything about Wynn, so I forced Arthur to make the call. He only agreed because he was terrified the stress would harm the baby."

She didn't waver. "He never even handed me the phone. I still don't know anything."

"So, this isn't his fault. Please don't take it out on him."

She finished her plea, her voice raw.

She stayed on the floor, showing no intention of getting back up.

Arthur watched in pure panic, utterly clueless on how to save her.

"Get out!" Sebastian barked.

Helena didn't move.

She knew the order was directed at the butler.

Sure enough, Sebastian's next threat followed immediately. "If I ever catch you acting on your own again, you'll face the consequences."

"Thank you, Mr. Hayes!" Arthur cried, tears of relief flooding his eyes.

Not daring to linger, he scrambled to his feet and hurried out of the room.

Only Helena and Sebastian were left in the kitchen.

Seeing Arthur safe, a small breath of relief escaped her lips.

"Since you like making decisions on your own, stay on the floor. Don't you dare get up without my permission," Sebastian ordered darkly.

Helena didn't reply. She just remained slumped on the cold floor, her head bowed.

Her heavily pregnant body throbbed.

Combined with the endless physical torment she had endured recently...

Her joints ached in protest.

But even so, she didn't utter a single complaint.

She had dragged too many innocent people down with her; she couldn't bear to carry any more guilt.

As for Wynn, judging by Arthur's calm demeanor during the call, she assumed her brother was safe for now.

For her, that was enough.

Seeing her stubbornly accept the punishment, Sebastian clenched his fists inside his pockets.

Hiding her growing anxiety, Janetta calmly pulled out her phone and called her assistant.

After ending the call, she strolled back into her room as if nothing had happened.

Just in time to see Sebastian walking in.

"What brings you back so early?" she asked, playing completely dumb.

"Just came to check on you," he cooed.

"I'm doing great. Don't worry about me," she smiled.

Sebastian hummed in response.

But deep down, he knew the truth.

He hadn't rushed home for Janetta.

He had come back for Helena.

And deep down, Janetta knew it too.

In the past, the first thing he would do upon arriving home was seek her out.

But today, he had gone straight to Helena.

She didn't call him out on it, simply resting her head against his chest in silence.

The master bedroom fell deadly quiet.
