"It's extremely bad. Tell Mrs. Hayes to get here as fast as she can if she wants to say goodbye. And please notify Mr. Hayes as well," the nurse rushed out.
Arthur's face paled further. "I'll contact him immediately."
The nurse didn't say another word and hung up.
Arthur was reeling. He couldn't believe things had spiraled into a nightmare so quickly.
Wynn was dying.
He knew full well that Wynn and the baby were the only leverage keeping Helena under control.
If Wynn died...
Given everything she was already going through...
He didn't even want to imagine the fallout.
Arthur quickly pulled out his phone to call Sebastian.
But the moment he turned around, he bumped right into Helena.
She had just finished cleaning the kitchen.
Her face was fraught with panic as she rushed toward him.
"Arthur, is something wrong with Wynn? I just heard you say his name." She grabbed his arm, her voice frantic.
Her emotions were rapidly spiraling out of control.
Her grip on his sleeve was bone-crushing.
Triggered by her extreme distress, her stomach began to tighten painfully.
Sharp cramps radiated through her abdomen.
The baby, sensing her mother's terror, began thrashing wildly inside her.
Arthur knew exactly how much Wynn meant to her.
Looking into her terrified eyes, he hesitated, completely torn on what to say.
His silence only fueled the suffocating dread building in her chest.
"Arthur, answer me!" she demanded, locking eyes with him.
She tried desperately to keep it together.
But the panic was drowning her.
The look she gave him was laced with a chilling, heartbreaking sorrow.
His hesitation was all the answer she needed.
"It's fine. I'll call them myself," she said, releasing his arm.
"Get out of my way!" she screamed.
Without thinking, she hurled her body against him, trying to shove past.
Because of her pregnancy, the bodyguard didn't dare use full force to stop her.
He could only watch in shock as she burst through the doors.
Snapping back to reality, they instantly gave chase.
They knew full well that if she escaped...
Their lives would be over.
Sebastian would end them.
Heavily pregnant and clumsy, Helena was caught within seconds.
"Please go back inside, Ms. Wallace," the bodyguard said, still maintaining a respectful tone.
But his stance was immovable.
The man's sheer physical strength eclipsed hers entirely.
Trying to force her way past him was physically impossible.
Trapped, Helena found herself locked in a desperate struggle with the security team.
