He Never Loved Me Until the Day I Finally Left Him novel Chapter 339

But Helena heard every single word Janetta had just screamed.

If she had been holding onto a thread of calm before, it snapped entirely now.

"What did you just say happened to Wynn?!" Helena shrieked, her eyes locking onto Janetta with terrifying intensity.

Ignoring her own physical pain, she lunged out of the bed straight for her.

She didn't doubt Janetta's words for a second.

She knew Janetta's ultimate goal was to destroy her.

As Helena charged, Janetta shrank back, acting as though she were paralyzed with fear.

She stumbled back a step but continued twisting the knife.

"Wynn is gone... Wynn is gone," Janetta kept whimpering softly.

"That's enough!" Sebastian suddenly roared.

The fury in his voice was directed squarely at Janetta.

Janetta instantly shut her mouth.

She stared at Sebastian in sheer disbelief.

She genuinely looked shocked that he had just snapped at her.

"Take Ms. Ramirez back," Sebastian ordered the bodyguards coldly.

The guards immediately stepped forward.

Janetta didn't put up a fight.

But she kept up her pathetic act. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry... I didn't mean to. I swear I didn't know..."

The bodyguards ignored her theatrics and escorted her out of the room.

Helena tried to lunge after her, but Sebastian grabbed her arm, holding her back.

"Sebastian, even now, are you still going to stop me from seeing him?!" Helena screamed, completely on the verge of a mental breakdown.

This time, Sebastian didn't hesitate.

His voice was firm and unyielding. "Calm down. I told you Wynn is fine, which means he is fine."

Helena stared at him, utterly paralyzed.

She didn't know whether to believe him or accuse him of lying.

But Sebastian looked so absolutely certain.

So certain that the words died in her throat.

After a long moment, Helena pulled herself together. "I'll only believe it when I see it with my own eyes."

"You can see him, but you stay by my side. It's true that his condition is unstable, and he's in the ICU right now. I promise you'll see him and confirm he's alive. But only on the condition that you behave and don't lose control."

He paused, a dark warning flashing in his eyes.

"Otherwise, I really will let him die." It wasn't a bluff.

"You can only observe from out here. The patient is extremely fragile, and entering the ICU could risk a fatal infection," a nurse quickly stepped forward to explain to Helena.

There was a monitoring screen outside the ICU doors.

There was also a large glass window that offered a clear view into the room.

Helena's eyes glued themselves to the monitor.

It was undeniably Wynn's face.

He looked exactly the same as before, just terrifyingly pale.

Through the glass, she could see the life support machines beside his bed running steadily.

Wynn was still breathing.

He just hadn't woken up.

Staring at the scene, Helena didn't know whether to breathe a sigh of relief.

Or if she should keep questioning reality.

But the heavy dread sitting on her chest refused to dissipate.

She pressed her hand flat against the glass, inspecting every inch of the room to reassure herself.

Sebastian stood by her side the entire time, not stopping her.

"Are you satisfied now?" he finally asked.
