Janetta fired off her accusations, one after another.
The more she spoke, the more convinced she became of her own twisted logic.
Her own mind was spinning out of control, fueled by her paranoid theories.
"Jana, stop overthinking," Sebastian's voice dropped an octave, laced with a subtle warning.
He met her gaze, enunciating every word with deliberate weight.
"If I'm not at the hospital, I'm at the company handling business. Don't make everything about Helena, alright?"
His patience was visibly fraying.
A distinct warning flashed in his eyes.
It was impossible for Janetta not to feel a spike of fear.
She knew exactly how explosive Sebastian's temper could be.
Realizing she had pushed too far, she instantly dialed back her aggression.
Her tone softened into a pitiful whimper, her eyes welling with calculated tears.
"Seb," she murmured his name.
Sebastian merely offered a clipped "Mm."
Janetta bit her lip, feigning hesitation.
Then, she asked softly, "Helena is due soon, isn't she?"
Sebastian stared at her, neither confirming nor denying it.
Undeterred, she pressed on. "I just want to know... once she gives birth, the police will arrest her, right? Will you interfere?"
She knew the legal loopholes all too well.
If Sebastian pulled the right strings, Helena could easily avoid immediate jail time by citing postpartum recovery and the need to breastfeed.
Her arrest could be delayed indefinitely.
And a delay meant room for "accidents."
Janetta refused to let any accidents ruin her plans.
So she laid the trap right at Sebastian's feet.
When he didn't immediately answer, her anxiety spiked into genuine panic.
Her fingers dug into his arm like claws.
Her voice pitched higher, cracking with hysteria.
"Seb, you're hesitating!" she accused him. "Don't you dare forget that Helena murdered my baby! Our baby! The child I fought so desperately to conceive, the child I nearly died trying to keep!"
Her voice grew shriller with every word.
Beau had pointed out that Helena had absolutely zero motive to commit murder.
At least, not unless Janetta had violently provoked her first.
Without a massive trigger, Helena would never have attacked.
Furthermore, Sebastian knew Helena's true nature better than anyone.
She had endured years of silent suffering at The Hayes Estate.
She was only one step away from finally earning her freedom.
It made zero logical sense for her to throw her entire life away now.
When the altercation between the two women happened, there were no witnesses.
By the time anyone realized what was going on, Janetta was already bleeding out.
Naturally, as the bleeding victim, no one questioned the narrative.
Not even Sebastian—until now.
Now, with the chaos firmly in the rearview mirror.
His rational mind was piecing the puzzle back together.
And he could keenly sense the terrifying depths of Janetta's hatred.
