He Never Loved Me Until the Day I Finally Left Him novel Chapter 391

Whenever this matter was brought up, Janetta Ramirez immediately tensed up.

"She's in a coma right now. We have to wait for her to stabilize, at least until her fever breaks," Sebastian Hayes said mildly.

"Okay," Janetta didn't press further.

Sebastian grunted in acknowledgment.

He let go of Janetta to leave.

She quickly grabbed his arm. "Aren't you going to stay with me?"

"I have other matters to attend to," Sebastian refused.

He pulled his hand free and turned to leave.

Janetta didn't try to stop him again.

She stood frozen in place, perfectly still.

He had relented on this matter, but she couldn't guess his true intentions.

Under these circumstances, she didn't want any unexpected variables.

She needed to strike first and gain the upper hand.

Taking a deep breath, Janetta buried her turbulent emotions and forced herself to remain quiet.

Leaving Janetta's ward, Sebastian headed straight back to Helena Wallace's room.

Helena was still in a deep coma.

Surprisingly, Sebastian didn't leave this time.

He stayed right by her bedside, refusing to take a single step away.

Even The Doctor and The Nurses exchanged shocked glances, completely taken aback.

But they dared not speak a word.

Helena's condition was incredibly grim, her vitals fluctuating wildly.

The only silver lining was the coma itself.

Compared to her previous hysterical thrashing, remaining unconscious was the best thing for her physical trauma.

It prevented her wounds from repeatedly tearing open.

Coupled with a top-tier medical team and the best medication available.

Her physical healing was naturally progressing day by day.

However, she wasn't entirely unresponsive during this time.

Occasionally, Helena would flutter her eyes open.

In a daze, she would see Sebastian sitting by her bed.

She truly thought she was hallucinating.

It felt as if she had been transported back to the past.

Back when Sebastian's grandpa was still alive, when the old man's iron-fisted rule kept Sebastian in check.

But even then, Sebastian had never been this gentle.

He stood up and poured a glass for her.

He carefully placed a straw into the glass before holding it up to her lips.

She drank agonizingly slowly, but he didn't seem to mind at all.

Halfway through, she accidentally choked.

He frowned slightly. "Careful."

He only relaxed his brow when her coughing subsided.

She hadn't managed to drink much.

Once her throat felt a little less raw, she finally looked at him.

Her voice was terrifyingly hoarse and unbelievably faint.

It was so weak it sounded as though her soul might leave her body at any second.

"I want my daughter..." she repeated, the only thought anchoring her to reality.

Whether it was because she had brought it up.

Or because her emotions were spiraling out of control again.

Or for some other reason entirely.

Helena's pale fingers weakly but firmly gripped his sleeve.

She was incredibly frail.
