He Never Loved Me Until the Day I Finally Left Him novel Chapter 413

Moments later, Janetta's assistant hurried into the room. "Ms. Ramirez, you needed me?"

"Call the lawyer. Drop the charges," Janetta ordered concisely.

"Understood," the assistant nodded.

Sebastian watched the entire exchange in silence.

Reading the room, the assistant knew exactly what was expected.

He dialed the lawyer's number right then and there, making sure Sebastian could hear every word.

The lawyer immediately began processing Janetta's request to drop the lawsuit.

Once the call ended and the wheels were in motion, the assistant turned back to them.

"Ms. Ramirez, the withdrawal has been filed. The police just need to process the paperwork. Ms. Wallace should be released without charge in about three days," the assistant summarized crisply.

Janetta gave a satisfied hum.

Then, she turned her head slightly toward Sebastian. "Is this satisfactory, Sebastian?"

Sebastian hummed in response, standing perfectly still with one hand casually tucked into his pocket.

"Get some rest," he told her with a brief nod.

With that, he turned on his heel, ready to leave.

But Janetta moved faster, stumbling as she desperately tried to get out of bed.

She thrust her arm out, her fingers catching his sleeve.

Sebastian reacted instantly, spinning around and grabbing her wrist to steady her.

He caught her just before she could tumble to the floor.

He stared down at her, a subtle flash of irritation crossing his somber features.

Of course, Janetta was blind to it.

"Sebastian," she breathed, tightening her grip on him.

He forced down his impatience and acknowledged her.

"I did exactly what I promised," Janetta reminded him softly. "Now, please don't forget what you promised me."

It was a clear, unmistakable demand.

Sebastian wasn't oblivious to it.

Even when she had defied him and insisted on moving abroad.

He had only ever responded with stoic silence, never raw anger.

But this Sebastian felt like a completely different man.

Janetta caught the shift instantly, and a profound sense of grievance washed over her.

Tears filled her voice as she quickly flipped the script to play the victim.

"I know all that, but going public with our relationship wouldn't ruin anything, would it?" she cried.

Sebastian took a slow, measured breath.

He was actively trying to rein in his temper.

Janetta had literally just come out of surgery.

She wasn't supposed to cry or get overly emotional.

If she did, the entire transplant could be compromised.

Forcing his anger down, he smoothed out his tone. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have snapped at you. Between the share transfer and everything else, I've been incredibly stressed."
