He Never Loved Me Until the Day I Finally Left Him novel Chapter 425

Helena gave a faint, empty smile.

Right. He had tolerated her for four whole days.

Such an agonizingly long time for him.

After all, in the past, he couldn't even tolerate her for four minutes.

Let alone four days.

She didn't want to guess why he suddenly had the patience to humor her.

It didn't matter anymore.

She thought, if this were the past, she would have been weeping with gratitude.

But now, she no longer needed this pathetic display of pity.

His sudden explosion seemed perfectly justified to her now.

She watched him indifferently, methodically pushing him into a corner.

Neither of them was willing to let the other go.

"Come on, tell me, how long are you going to keep throwing this tantrum?" He suppressed his rage, forcing his voice down.

She simply repeated her demand. "I just want to take Hope and leave."

"Helena, that's enough. My patience is wearing thin. You know exactly what Hope's condition was like. Her chances of survival were astronomically low to begin with. Everyone did their absolute best. What more do you want?" he accused.

Fueled by his rising anger, his words turned harsh.

"Don't forget, you killed Janetta's baby, which led to all this. Are you saying you bear absolutely no responsibility for what happened to Hope?"

He dumped the dirty water right over her head without hesitation.

The moment the words left his mouth, he felt a brief flash of regret, but it vanished just as quickly.

When Helena had accused Janetta of doing it on purpose.

He had actually ordered Carter Miles to pull the surveillance footage from the scene.

But all the evidence pointed to Helena making the first move.

So it was incredibly hard for him to believe her.

With Helena causing a scene time and time again, there was no way he was going to be happy about it.

That was based on her deep understanding of Janetta.

If the baby had been healthy, giving birth would have brought Janetta nothing but advantages.

But if there was something wrong with it, Janetta's personality guaranteed she would weaponize the situation to its maximum potential.

She would squeeze every last drop of value out of that unborn child.

Janetta only loved herself; she was fundamentally a selfish monster.

But Sebastian wouldn't believe it.

And that didn't matter anymore either.

"Fine, let's drop that. Janetta wanted my cornea in exchange for dropping the charges, and I gave it to her," Helena continued.

She spoke faster and faster, launching the verbal assault straight at him.

"So what exactly do you want from me now? Do you expect me to fall to my knees in gratitude because you let me keep one eye so I can still see?"

"Sebastian, I don't need your pathetic pity. If I had the choice, I'd choose to never see again for the rest of my life, as long as it meant having absolutely nothing to do with you ever again."
