After hanging up, Lance dialed Julian's number.
Lance was well aware of the situation with Hope.
He knew Julian had taken the baby.
But he had no idea what the child's current condition was.
He only knew what state Hope had been in when she left the hospital.
And honestly, he figured the baby wasn't going to make it.
So, he didn't press for details.
Lance simply relayed his conversation with Helena to Julian.
Julian listened in silence. "I called her earlier. She told me not to come."
"And you actually listened?" Lance asked, genuinely surprised.
"Yeah," Julian replied coolly. "Now isn't the right time. You know how stubborn she is; she won't back down until she hits a dead end."
Lance couldn't argue with that.
The Helena of the past was exactly the same as the Helena of today.
The only difference was that back then, her obsession had been Sebastian.
Now, her sole focus was Hope.
"How is Hope doing?" Lance finally asked.
"She's still fighting," Julian said softly. "But telling Helena right now would only wreck her emotionally. She's been through too much—whiplashed from hope to despair, back to hope, and then absolute devastation. If something goes wrong again, she won't survive the fallout. It's better to let her believe Hope is gone. As for how she died, Helena has already guessed the truth; she just needs the proof."
Julian paused for a moment before adding, "Without proof, she won't do anything reckless."
Helena understood Julian, and Julian understood her.
In a twisted way, this dynamic kept them both grounded.
Lance nodded, deciding not to push the issue any further.
The two of them ended the call.
Meanwhile—
Sophia Zane had successfully liquidated all the properties and cash Sebastian had given Helena.
She had quietly processed the multi-million dollar donation under the baby's name.
