"Yes, sir. I'll take care of it," Jensen replied.
Julian ended the call without another word and headed to the kitchen to prepare breakfast.
Helena's sleep had been fitful lately, and she rarely slept for long.
She would usually get up early to eat.
If she didn't, her blood sugar would plummet.
At exactly 8:35 AM, she slowly opened her eyes.
She hadn't slept much at all.
She didn't get out of bed immediately.
Instead, she reached into her bag and pulled out the note Rosalie had given her.
There was only a phone number written on it.
Her palms were slick with sweat as she clutched the piece of paper.
Taking a steadying breath, she dialed the number.
"Hello, this is Helena," she said the moment the call connected.
There was a brief silence on the other end before a voice replied, "Hello, Ms. Wallace."
"What did you need to see me about?" Helena asked.
"If it's convenient for you, could you come to the Pine Creek area?" Rosalie requested, suggesting a location.
"When?" she agreed without pressing for details.
"Whenever you're available."
"How about this afternoon?"
"Okay. One o'clock. There's a pavilion inside Pine Creek Park. Let's meet there."
"Alright."
Once Helena agreed, Rosalie didn't add anything else.
They both hung up.
As if sensing she was awake, Julian casually walked into the room.
She looked up at him calmly.
"Who was on the phone?" he asked naturally.
"The girl I mentioned earlier. She asked me to meet her at Pine Creek Park this afternoon." She saw no reason to hide it from him.
"Alright," he nodded. "Let's have some breakfast. I know a great private kitchen over in Pine Creek. I'll take you there, and we can go see her after."
"Okay," she agreed.
They were supposed to go to The Civil Affairs Bureau today.
But neither of them brought it up.
