Helena didn't actually expect Sebastian to answer her questions.
She had no intention of continuing this entanglement.
She turned around, ready to find Skye in her room.
Kyle was here tonight, so Sebastian wouldn't make things too difficult.
She knew this very well.
Sebastian wouldn't blatantly act out right in front of his son.
But just as she turned, Sebastian's hand suddenly clamped around her wrist.
Helena frowned, trapped in his grip.
Sebastian looked down at her, his question blunt.
"If I propose, will you marry me?"
The ball was suddenly back in her court.
This time, Helena was the silent one.
But she didn't panic, maintaining her calm gaze on him.
"Sebastian, I don't like these kinds of jokes," she said, a hint of irony in her smile. "Talk is cheap. Understand?"
With that, she dropped the subject.
"I need to check on Hope. A new environment spooks her easily." She used the little girl as a shield.
But it was the truth.
If Hope was in an unfamiliar place, issues could easily arise.
If anything happened to Hope after she brought her to Disneyland...
She would never forgive herself.
With that said, she walked toward Hope's room.
Sebastian stood his ground, making no move to stop her.
He waited until she disappeared into the room before turning around calmly and heading toward Kyle's room.
When Helena walked in, Hope immediately squeezed her eyes shut.
"I know you're not asleep," Helena grumbled.
But the risks were ever-present.
They all knew Hope wanted to visit her dream destinations before going under the knife.
And because of that...
When Helena messaged Julian yesterday...
Even though Julian was furious, he didn't send anyone to drag them back.
Otherwise, he could have easily taken them away, and Sebastian wouldn't have dared to intervene.
In the end, he had indulged them.
"Helena... don't be mad. I'll go back to Coralia right after Disneyland. I promise to be good," Hope pleaded, clutching her hand pitifully.
"Okay," Helena replied, her voice choking up.
It turned out Hope was the one comforting her.
Helena said nothing more, just gently coaxed her to sleep.
"Aren't we going to Disneyland tomorrow? Even if we don't have to wait in lines, you need to save your energy. Get some rest," she whispered softly.
