He Never Loved Me Until the Day I Finally Left Him novel Chapter 763

Lance arrived bright and early to personally escort them down to the car.

Skye adored him.

The second she saw him, her face lit up. "Morning, Uncle Lance!"

Though Lance wasn't biologically related to Julian, in their social circle, he easily filled the role of an older brother figure.

Making him the perfect 'uncle' to little Skye.

As usual, Lance couldn't resist teasing her.

"You know, you call Julian your brother, but you call me uncle. Don't you think you're aging me terribly?" he scoffed playfully.

Skye giggled, her voice a tiny whisper. "But you are older than Julian."

"By six months!" Lance groaned, rolling his eyes dramatically.

Skye just grinned cheekily, thoroughly unbothered by his protests.

Lance shook his head, completely used to her antics.

He grabbed her little hand and led her to the car.

Helena followed quietly behind, keeping a low profile.

Lance buckled Skye safely into the back seat, hopped into the driver's side, and pulled out of the complex to drop her at school.

None of them noticed the imposing figure standing perfectly still by the elevators.

Sebastian watched the car pull away, his eyes turning as dark as a storm front.

He recognized Lance immediately.

He knew exactly what Lance meant to Helena.

But why the hell was he in Coralia?

And why did he look so comfortable playing house with her?

Was Julian pulling strings from afar?

Sebastian stood frozen, his mind spinning a dangerous web of calculations.

Every time he convinced himself his theories were insane, a new piece of evidence slapped him right in the face.

Just as his paranoia peaked, his phone buzzed in his pocket.

He pulled it out and answered.

It was Dr. Solomon Lynch.

"I got him. Dr. Leo Vance is in Coralia right now. He agreed to sit down with you. But whether he actually tells you what you want to hear is entirely up to him," Dr. Lynch said, skipping the pleasantries.

Even a renowned surgeon like Vance wasn't immune to the oppressive aura Sebastian radiated.

"Are you here to consult about a procedure?" Vance asked cautiously.

"No," Sebastian finally replied smoothly. "I just have a few questions for you."

"Go ahead," Vance nodded.

"Five or six years ago, did you perform reconstructive surgery on Helena Wallace?" he asked casually.

Pulling out his phone, he slid a recent photo of Helena across the desk.

Vance barely glanced at it before nodding.

He recognized his own handiwork instantly, but he kept his poker face flawless. "Why the sudden interest, Mr. Hayes?"

A slow, terrifying smile spread across Sebastian's face.

It was the kind of smile that made Vance's blood run cold.

Sebastian left the phone on the desk, fully commanding the room.

He might have been the one asking for a favor, but he was undeniably the predator here.

"Since you asked, I won't sugarcoat it. Helena is a fugitive involved in multiple major felonies. If you operated on her knowing her identity, you're an accessory to those crimes. Let's be honest, Professor. A scandal like that would end your flawless career overnight."
