He Never Loved Me Until the Day I Finally Left Him novel Chapter 764

Sebastian's words were a silk-wrapped threat. "After all, the higher you climb, the more people there are just waiting to watch you fall, wouldn't you agree?"

Just as he expected, Professor Vance's stoic composure cracked.

"Oh, and I almost forgot to mention," Sebastian added smoothly. "Her crimes took place in Riverton, not Coralia. The Campbell Family's influence here won't be able to protect you."

He tapped a slow, agonizing rhythm on the desk with his long fingers.

He wasn't in a rush.

He just sat back, letting his predatory gaze completely dismantle the surgeon's defenses.

Under that withering stare, Vance's panic became impossible to hide.

A flicker of genuine terror sparked in the older man's eyes.

"Take your time," Sebastian offered casually. "Think it through. Because once we get everything out in the open, it'll prove you had absolutely nothing to do with her crimes, right?"

A suffocating, ten-minute silence choked the office.

Finally, Vance swallowed hard and broke. "When I met the patient, I had no idea what kind of trouble she was in. I didn't even know her real name. I was hired strictly as a freelance specialist."

Sebastian let out a noncommittal hum, urging him to keep talking.

"I never even saw her original face. The intermediary who hired me gave me one instruction: make her look natural. Flawless. Like she had never gone under the knife," Vance explained, rubbing his temples as the memories surfaced.

"By the time I walked into the operating room, she was already heavily anesthetized. I performed four separate procedures on her over a period of time. Every single time, it was the exact same routine: I walked in, she was already under. When I finished, I was escorted out by private security. I never learned her identity."

"It wasn't until I saw her in the news years later that I realized she was the CEO of IGM, Julian's wife."

"But to me, that didn't matter. She was just a client. And I never betray patient confidentiality," Vance said, his voice regaining some of its professional grit.

Being Julian's trophy wife wasn't exactly a step up for a woman with that kind of shadow-money.

Sebastian's fingers continued their steady drumming on the mahogany desk.

He locked eyes with the surgeon again.

"I want the pre-op photos. Whatever you saw when you first walked in. Send them to me," he ordered, his tone leaving zero room for negotiation.

"I'll pull the encrypted files," Vance sighed, completely surrendering.

A moment later, his phone buzzed, and he forwarded the images to Sebastian's device.

Before Sebastian even unlocked his screen, Vance spoke again.

"When I first examined her, her face looked like it had been violently shredded by sharp rocks from The Reefs. The tissue trauma was so severe that a standard reconstruction was impossible. That's why we had to resort to a total facial overhaul," Vance explained plainly.
