"Understood," Professor Vance replied quickly.
The second Sebastian was out the door, Vance didn't waste a single minute.
He scrubbed in, finished his scheduled surgery at lightning speed, and booked the first flight out of Coralia.
This city was a political warzone, and he wasn't sticking around for the fallout.
Shortly after Vance's departure, Carter Miles stepped into Sebastian's office.
Sebastian leveled a terrifyingly sharp gaze at his assistant.
"Dig up everything you can on Helena's car crash from years ago," he commanded.
Carter blinked, momentarily confused. "You mean Mrs. Hayes?"
But one look at the icy, murderous glint in his boss's eyes gave him the answer.
He meant Julian's wife, Helena.
Not Janetta Ramirez.
Carter hesitated, choosing his next words very carefully. "Sir, we've looked into this before. The Campbell Family scrubbed the records clean. Finding the actual truth about what happened that night is going to be incredibly difficult."
After all, this was Coralia.
Sebastian's reach was powerful, but it wasn't absolute here.
Any aggressive digging would immediately trip Julian's alarms.
Whatever information they did find would likely be fed to them on purpose.
Sebastian and Julian were already locked in a blood feud.
Pushing this investigation meant openly declaring war, leaving Carter caught completely in the middle.
Sebastian remained silent, absorbing Carter's warning.
His mind shifted to the hair sample Beau Sterling had taken from Helena weeks ago.
His eyes darkened with lethal calculation as he looked back at Carter.
"Take The DNA Evidence from Helena's accident and run a completely new verification," Sebastian ordered.
Carter froze.
Before he could ask why, Sebastian smoothly mapped out the trap.
"Run two separate tests. One through standard channels—let Julian find out about it. The second one will be completely off the books, double-blind. Cross-reference them," Sebastian instructed, his voice dangerously low.
If Julian was playing a massive game of deception.
Sebastian let out a flat, dismissive grunt, offering absolutely nothing in return.
Janetta paused, sensing the ice in his silence. "Are you busy right now?"
"Yes," he replied, his tone dead flat.
"Sebastian..." she started again, her voice pitching slightly higher in desperation. "My agency booked a fan meeting in Coralia for Janetta's Fans. Are you... are you going to come?"
In the past, Sebastian would have shown up without question.
His presence was the ultimate PR weapon, proving to the world that their marriage was bulletproof and that she was the untouchable Mrs. Hayes.
But lately, he had vanished from her public life entirely.
Without his terrifying shadow protecting her, the entertainment industry had quickly turned ruthless, and Janetta's status was crumbling by the second.
She desperately needed him to show his face to remind everyone who she belonged to.
"We'll see," Sebastian replied coldly.
It was a blatant rejection.
Without offering her another syllable, he ended the call.
