He Never Loved Me Until the Day I Finally Left Him novel Chapter 767

The car drove smoothly toward downtown Coralia.

Sebastian spun his phone thoughtfully in his hand.

He sent a text to Helena.

Sebastian: [Let's have lunch together.]

Helena: [No thanks. I have plans.]

It was a blatant rejection.

She was avoiding him, and Sebastian was well aware of it.

In fact, the only reason she had even replied was because of Skye's surgery.

Otherwise, he would still be blocked, entirely unable to send her a single word.

His predatory gaze remained calm and unreadable.

From the driver's seat, Carter asked quietly, "Where to now, Mr. Hayes?"

"Back to her apartment," Sebastian replied flatly.

"Yes, sir." Carter didn't ask any further questions.

Soon, the car was cruising smoothly toward Helena's building.

Sebastian remained completely silent for the entire ride, watching the Coralia cityscape blur past the window.

He didn't say a word until they finally pulled up outside the apartment complex.

It was Carter who broke the silence, sounding surprised. "Lance is in Coralia too?"

Sebastian had already spotted him.

Lance was stepping out of the building, keeping a low profile.

He had just exited the elevator bank that led directly to Helena's floor.

Carter quickly connected the dots.

Suddenly, his boss's erratic mood today made perfect sense.

Still, Carter quickly regained his professional composure.

"It's not surprising that Lance and Ms. Wallace know each other," he pointed out practically. "After all, Julian is their mutual connection."

Sebastian simply murmured in acknowledgment, offering no other response.

He didn't want the woman he loved getting tangled up with her ex-husband again.

So he was doing everything in his power to sever those ties.

But Lance also understood Sebastian's mindset.

He was likely suspicious and trying to force Helena into confessing her true identity.

Or maybe he was just drawn to her current face, chasing the ghost of his past.

Either way, whenever those two men clashed, it was like a disastrous collision. It didn't end well for anyone.

To Lance, it was glaringly obvious that Helena would be the one who ended up getting hurt the most.

"Are you telling me to let her go?" Julian finally asked.

"No. I just genuinely believe that she needs to settle her own grudges with Sebastian before she can make a clear decision," Lance reasoned. "Otherwise, even if you force her to stay by your side, marry you, and have kids, this unresolved trauma will always be a thorn in her heart. You two will never have a normal relationship."

"If this drags on, don't you think something will eventually snap?" Lance sighed.

Silence fell heavily over the line as Julian processed this.

"Besides, if the Campbell family gets dragged into this mess, her life with them will only get harder," Lance pointed out directly. "Sure, she could always go back to the Everetts, but do you honestly think she'd do that? In the end, aren't you just backing her into a corner with no way out?"
