He Never Loved Me Until the Day I Finally Left Him novel Chapter 847

Helena's face was ashen, her hands blindly reaching out until they latched onto Sebastian's sleeve on pure instinct.

Trapped in absolute darkness, she clung to him like a drowning woman finding a lifeline.

Listening to her rapid-fire questions, Sebastian fell into a stunned silence.

"Lena, do you really not remember anything?" he asked, his voice low and tight.

She shook her head, a purely subconscious, trembling reaction.

"Who am I? Do you know me? What are we to each other?" she demanded, her brow furrowed in fear.

This level of raw panic couldn't be faked.

And it was glaringly obvious she was blind, her fingers groping empty air to map out her surroundings.

A sighted person pretending to be blind would slip up almost immediately.

There was no reason for her to act.

Besides, Sebastian knew her too well; he would spot a lie in a heartbeat.

"Your name is Helena, and you're my wife. We've been married for years," he stated smoothly.

If she truly had amnesia, this could be the greatest stroke of luck he could have hoped for.

But he knew he couldn't overwhelm a fractured mind with too much fabricated history all at once.

"We have a son together," Sebastian continued softly. "He's not here right now. You accompanied me on a business trip, and there was an accident. You got caught in the crossfire. The bullet pierced your chest, which is why it hurts, but thankfully, it missed all your vital organs."

He delivered the lies with a concise, steady calm.

Helena's frown deepened, struggling to process the sudden avalanche of information.

"As for your eyes, I'm not entirely sure what happened. We'll know more when the doctor checks on you. Your vision was perfectly fine before," he added quietly.

Yet, internally, his mind raced back to years ago.

She had given her corneas to Janetta Ramirez.

The corneas she had now were a transplant from someone else.

Could that have triggered this sudden blindness?

His thoughts spiraled darker by the second, but on the surface, he remained the picture of an unbothered, devoted husband.
