He Never Loved Me Until the Day I Finally Left Him novel Chapter 848

Helena frowned. "How long have we been married? Where is our child?"

"We've been married for ten years. Our son is six years old, and he's back home in Riverton. We only came to Coralia for an emergency business trip," Sebastian answered fluidly.

Helena opened her mouth to ask more questions.

But the words caught in her throat, refusing to surface.

She was missing too many pieces of her own life.

Besides, having just woken up from major surgery, her energy was completely depleted.

"Don't rush it. I'll tell you everything slowly. You can't force all these memories back in one day, right?" Sebastian murmured, his tone infinitely soothing.

Helena didn't argue; he was right.

"I won't let anything bad happen to you. The doctor said you'll be fine with a little time," he coaxed gently.

She gave a passive nod.

"Are you hungry? I can have the nanny whip something up," he offered, his voice laced with warmth.

Helena looked up toward the sound of his voice, entirely reliant on his presence.

"Can't you cook?" she blurted out suddenly.

She didn't even know why she asked that.

According to the story he just spun, he was a wealthy, high-status businessman.

The linens she was gripping were top-tier, luxurious cotton.

She might be amnesiac, but her basic intuition and common sense were still sharp.

Clearly, a man of his supposed standing wouldn't be caught dead doing manual labor like cooking.

Yet, for some inexplicable reason, she felt an overwhelming urge to be difficult with him.

"Whatever you want to eat, I'll make it for you," Sebastian replied without a hint of hesitation.

Helena actually took a moment to think it over. "Some light soup, maybe a few side dishes. I have this awful, metallic taste in my mouth."

Sebastian murmured an agreement.
